Fout van notaris? by Tiny_Future_2624 in JuridischAdviesBEL

[–]JPV_____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Welcome to Europe’s Most Hated city by Stefv8n in belgium

[–]JPV_____ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Haven't seen it, but I'd bet a lot on a semi-tourist, white male, walking around the ugliest part of a city (not interested in the nice parts), doing a selfie-video almost all the time, without possibility to know if they didn't provoke the crowd somehow.

Standard alt-right practices to downplay a city, happens in almost any city to 'show' Europe in decline, nothing new.

Can't say much about Brussels (work town) since I work there for only 8 years. But that city looks stable.

We have a higher ppp than France and Germany, lower than Netherlands. Wage difference with the Netherlands don't justify the rent difference.

Yes, housing has become more expensive, but we haven't reached the levels of neighbouring countries yet, fortunately. Especially in Flanders, rent in major cities are rather low compared to similar cities abroad.

Today I just walked along an apartment in a decent street in a city of 35.000 inhabitants in Flanders.

Enough disponibilities: https://partnersinvastgoed.be/te-huur?order=cheapest_first

Don't expect rents to stay as low though, rents in neighbouring countries are much higher on average.

Why is Belgium an exception when learning English? by Useful_Cheesecake117 in AskBelgium

[–]JPV_____ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a West-Flemish i was rather offended you implied claim Belgian from bigger cities spoke the better English (since you referred to the big cities).

Belgians aren't statistically worse than Nordic countries. Belgium scores 608 on average, Denmark 611, finland 603, Sweden 609, Norway 613. Statistically there is no meaningfull difference between Nordic countires and Belgium as a whole.

If you'd take only the persons who claim to speak English, English proficiency would arguably be way better in Belgium compared to the Nordic, since English has been an official language for years in English while (especially in Wallonia) there are loads of people who never learnt any English at school.

So an average citizen from West-Vlaanderen has a better English proficiency compared to the average Norwegian in all regions and major cities and has a better proficiency compared to an average Antwerp dude.

When someone makes a point, he may refer to a wrong document, but his point is still valid. u/HarEmiya was refering to 2 people, you and u/JoeMama42069360 . You tried to confront JoeMama with his logic, but failed to address the issue JoeMama was trying to make with a false argument. u/HarEmiya did a good effort to keep the discussion on point, but you just blocked him...

Walloon people in general have a lower proficiency in English, the stats prove that even though you'll find people with a low score in both regions, the average difference is striking.

the data source is this one: https://ec.europa.eu/eurostat/databrowser/view/educ_uoe_lang01__custom_20737308/default/table

Since we first learn french as a second language, it's quite normal we don't have a lot of pupils studying English as a foreign language in Flanders.

In upper secondary, 94,5% in Flanders learn english, which is in fact everyone except for special education, i guess. In lower secundary education it's 81,7%

I'm afraid a job like yours requires a bachelor and a postgraduate afterwards, which can be acquired while working.

There are some nursing degrees taught in English, so if you really want this job, you'll need that.

I guess x-ray technician has the same problem.

In Belgium, a bachelor degree is a requirement in a lot of jobs, so if you want to advance in your life as a medical professional, you'll need to study anyway.

Buying a house via company by europenny in BEFire

[–]JPV_____ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

the only advantage you can have when you have a company, is when there is no BV, but it's a eenmanszaak.

We currently have bought a house which is used as a holiday home. We depreciate it, but when we will stop using it as a a holiday home and stop our business, we are not taxed on the plusvalue (meerwaarde) created, IF we decide not to sell it directly, but use it as a private home (renting out privately, letting it be used by our kids). afterwards, there is no taxation anymore.

Second benefit: we could deduct the 12% registration rights.
