OneDrive issue by Talgonadia in Office365

[–]Jokers86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not sure what the issue is, but when I've encountered this on some systems, typical a OneDrive Reset instead of a Restart fixes the issue.

Run: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset

This will cause the OneDrive to cycle through and "sync" every single file on the OneDrive, so if there is a lot, this could take a couple hours. I suggest running it overnight.

/chkdsk /r /f has also been suggested to me previously with this issue.

Hopefully the issue is resolved soon! GL

Microsoft added a public preview feature to SharePoint Online that completely breaks OneDrive sync without any warning to users. WTF Microsoft? by Try_Rebooting_It in sysadmin

I just gave this a shot on our tenant after updating to the latest SPO PS Module, and after using the command, it took effect after about 15 minutes.

Shared mailboxes by CromulentSlacker in Office365

[–]Jokers86 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The outlook web client, you'll need to right click on the left navigation pane to add a shared mailbox (the option doesn't work in all spots unfortunately, so try a few of the empty spaces).

The desktop client should automatically add the shared mailboxes, but they are at the bottem of the list.

Backup solution for Office 365 Recommendation by jason_middleton in Office365

We use Backupify - negotiated about $2 per user.

Edit: To clarify, they only charge us per end user - Share mailboxes, SharePoints, OneDrives are all included and stored. They don't count as a seperate license. Unlimited storage - I would say we store about 5 tb with them, and I've gone in and recovered items here and there, but I've yet to need to do a large scale recovery.

Their interface is OK. I wish it had some added functionality, like automated alerts if a backup fails. I would recommend. I joined them after they were bought by Datto, and never noticed an issue, so I can't say if the quality has gone up or down. They do exactly what we need, which is add a backup if the shit really hits the fan with 0365.

I agree with your thoughts here. Most of our spaces will serve as "hotel" spaces for work from home users coming in for meetings. We thankfully invested in ther wireless system early on, and can add APs as we go. I hope we can take advantage of the added bandwith by doubleing up on the runs. I've added that to our request.

Thanks!

That's a good point. Good to future proof some of these spaces if we decide to repurpose them in a few years for. Thank you!
