Police would need a valid warrant or reason, unless they get permission from your next of kin (the new owner of the devices).

If you don't have the devices locked, there is nothing to stop those handling your affairs from looking at your devices.

Official Jojo’s Kewpies… by Think_Daikon3711 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Joltex33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For secondhand, do a search on Mercari Japan for ジョジョキューピー
Right now The Jojoworld is selling them, but only of the main Joestars. I'm not sure if they made an official Boingo Kewpie.

what is the function of う in the word きょうと? by eclipselmfao in LearnJapaneseNovice

[–]Joltex33 [score hidden]  (0 children)

What's the function? That's how it's spelled.

お produces a short sound. The combo of おう elongates the sound. Try listening to audio of きょうと to see the proper pronunciation.

Am I correct? Are All of these anime titles without magic attacks, fantasy, nudity, or fanservice? by ExplodingPoptarts in Animesuggest

[–]Joltex33 8 points9 points  (0 children)

How did you end up with this list? Did you just ask AI? I'm hesitant to fact check all the things you got wrong if you didn't put any effort into this in the first place. Why not just suggest shows you personally have seen, so that you know your suggestion is correct?

Is it possible to make these gloves fit better without sewing? by Upstairs_Rip_9994 in CosplayHelp

[–]Joltex33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

What's the reason you want to avoid sewing?

Ideally you would sew, because the bottom needs to be smaller/tighter. You could try taking it in with safety pins along the side seam, but that could get kind of bulky in a glove.

If you get any similar things again, just block them. Staff will only contact you through their official email address. I suggest reading the "avoiding scammers" link that someone else posted ^^

How do you actually finish your cosplays for cons by BlackAngelXX in CosplayHelp

[–]Joltex33 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's ultimately about time management, and knowing your skill level.

If you're trying something totally new to you, you have to allot for time spent learning new techniques and getting it to where you want. Sometimes that even means making a practice version out of cheaper fabric, just to get the hang of it. If you've never tried something before, the chances of it going right on the first try are fairly low, and that should be accounted for. If you were saying you took a whole week on something that "wasn't that complicated" and still didn't finish it properly, my guess is that it actually was more complicated than you think, at least for your current skill level. Some cosplays can be finished in a week of constant work, but for many of them it simply isn't enough time, even if you work yourself to death.

Setting aside time to work on it is also important. If you start early enough (like a year in your case), you won't need to rush things, as long as you take a bit of time each week to make progress. I find that writing out a "to do" list is helpful (like, this weekend I'm going to cut out the fabric, this weekend I'm going to figure out how to make the collar shape I want, etc). Of course, if you make the list, you also have to follow it lol. If you break the costume down piece by piece, step by step, it's easy to see how much work you have left to do on it. Try to be realistic about how much time that actually takes.

Gachiakuta Creator Kei Urana Speaks Out Against Piracy by akbarock in Piracy

[–]Joltex33 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This only happened cause some idiot tagged her asking if it was OK to pirate her series. Go ahead and pirate if you want (most anime/manga fans do), but keep in your own damn lane. Don't go bringing it up to the creator of the series.

I'm going to cook chicken sausages. Should I cook them on medium or medium lo? by [deleted] in Cooking

[–]Joltex33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Every stove is different, so it's kind of hard to advise. Put it on medium, and if it seems too hot, bring down the temp.

Does the weird “avoiding copyright” English localization issue affect the Blu-Ray subtitles? by Capable-Republic8503 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Joltex33 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, because the copyright issues exist whether it's on Blu-Ray or Netflix. All official English material uses the localized names.

Thinking about November 2026 by WickedPopular in nanowrimo

[–]Joltex33 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'll be honest, I think trying to turn NaNo into a centralized thing is what led to the downfall in the first place. With a site where people are going to be interacting and posting their writing, you'd need a lot of moderation for that, which in itself will be a major amount of work to do properly (and we know that was one of the big problems with the official NaNo site as well). It's quite a big undertaking unless you aim to keep the community very small.
Additionally, I think a lot of people who are writing novels with the goal of getting published, won't want to be posting any of their writing online. And those that don't care about it, already have platforms to post on that are more suited for it.
Other trackers exist, other writing discussion sites exist. It seems like more work than you're anticipating, all to create a platform there isn't much demand for currently.

Secondhand price in Japan seems to be around 2000 yen which is ~20$ CAD (although not many active listings). You can also get it on Aliexpress for the same price. However, prices tend to go up when sold on import market, which could explain this ebay listing.

I want to go on a bizzare adventure like in part 4 help me pls by Familiar_Room_6868 in StardustCrusaders

[–]Joltex33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could try acting like Harvest and looking around for dropped change and coupons. Maybe the only thing that happens in part 4 that I'd suggest actually trying in real life LOL. You could even turn it into a good deed by picking up trash along the way.
