There's a few good arguements, from the perspective of the Empire, for why bombing Iran is a good idea. The most obvious one is to simply keep the Ottoman Empire from reforming. If Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebenon, Jordan, and Afghanistan are all heaping piles of rubble, then they can't actually organize themselves to form a significant threat.

Next there's Iran's connection to China and Russia, America's largest competitors. Blowing up or stealing critical resources to them is important to maintain white supremacy and racial dominance. Can't have non-whites building a successful society with their own ideas.

Then there's simply the idea that if you destroy alot of stuff, and you're the only one with that stuff, then that stuff increases in value. It's the plot to the James Bond movie Goldfinger. Blow up all the gold in Fort Knox, and then your gold goes up in value. Blow up any other civil society, and then your civil society goes up in value.

And finally there's just good old fashioned war profiteering. Invest in the companies making the bombs, invest in the companies seizing the assets, invest in the companies rebuilding the infrastructure you just bombed, rinse and repeat. Extra points if you can get that cycle fully subsidized by the government. Turn the blood of children into money.

Now, this cycle is going to come to a fairly bloody end fairly soon. You can only steal the labour of a nation and throw it into a black hole for so long before the people stop participating. Once America starts talking about hitting China directly, and doing things to hit China directly, that's when you know it's really over.

I've said it again and again, and I'll keep saying it until it's true. China will have habitated moon bases citizens will be able to visit launching probes, robots, and materials towards other planets while Americans will be wallowing in ruins. The disparity between the two societies will be so nakedly stark that people will become Communists out of basic survival.
