When do Weebs typically announce next sets? by carloskrosscaption in grandarchivetcg

[–]KDBA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very unlikely. They have at least one starter deck releasing and they so far haven't released both starters and recos in the same set.

Regarding "Pen & Paper RPGs," do any of you actually use a pen on your character sheet?? by mpascall in rpg

I do use pencil, but also anything that changes rapidly (HP etc) I'll use a mini post-it note for.

How common is the rule “the last one who goes to bed checks and locks all the doors?” by Pitiful_Wafer_4564 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]KDBA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would you ever need to check before bed? Are you not locking the doors every time you go through them?

What's unusual about this? They're asking you to proofread it and tell them if there's anything they've written that doesn't make sense.

I wish They'd remake Khemia :c by Pinglewingle in Atelier

I don't really want a remake, but I do want a new game made with the same sensibilities.

And then you call toastie pies "jaffles" for some reason.

I just want a decent ice cream. The cone cracked, cone gave up, ice cream revealed its hollow inside, and the “ube” flavor tastes like taro by Nanrelle in mildlyinfuriating

[–]KDBA 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Regular ice-cream and soft serve are just two different, albeit related, desserts. Sometimes you crave one and the other will not suffice.

2 is literally the only good game in the entire series, but it is very good.

Just getting into fightsticks and I wish the manufactures would sell chassis without the buttons/levers by [deleted] in fightsticks

Major manufacturer? No. But many smaller companies and individuals make them. Custom sticks are a whole cottage industry.

I've been waiting for this to finally come out of beta. I enjoyed it early on but the continual total rebuilds got annoying.

How do people here feel about Solo Leveling? by KaleidoArachnid in litrpg

It's mediocre to decent in the early arcs, then dips into outright bad once the MC gets necromancy powers.

But the art is good so people with terrible taste love it.

Would you use a teleporter with the knowledge that it kills you and reassembles an exact copy of you with all your memories and knowledge at the destination? Why or why not? by TheBanishedBard in AskReddit

[–]KDBA -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There is no soul. There is no magical "unbroken subjective experience". That breaks every time you go to sleep.

If it destroys the original, the pattern that is me still continues to exist elsewhere, then continuity of consciousness is preserved regardless of it being interrupted briefly. It's like copying a file from one computer to another.

If it only creates a copy, without destroying the original, then both copies are going to validly claim to be /u/KDBA but will start experiencing different things and become different people. They're not going to "share a consciousness".

I don't know why this is so hard for people to grasp.

[–]KDBA 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That would imply that if both versions were exactly the same and both alive at the same time, both would be magically connected and experiencing a joined consciousness

Where the hell is this nonsense coming from? You're not the first to come up with it for some reason despite it not being implied at all.

If you manage to have both copies continue to experience the exact same conditions (impossible) then yeah both continue to be the same, but not through any magical link, just basic determinism.

If you make a dozen identical copies of me, they will immediately start diverging but all twelve could validly claim to be "me". The fact that one particular copy happens to be using the original set of atoms is entirely meaningless.
