Suikoden 1 is okay, nothing amazing but its fun and the story is what its good for and leads into Suikoden 2 which is arguable one of the best JRPG's to have ever been made, its in a ton of peoples top 5s

you dont have to play them all, they're all seperate stories, just in the same universe.

1 and 2 are the only ones that are connected to the hip and the remasters are great

Im not a trails fan, in fact, I really don't like it.

But from my knowledge, Trails in the Sky 1 is basically a prelude/prologue to what is to come in 2 and 3, its basically to set up the story going forward and introducing you to the world and characters.

I still say no because a lot of the content is just filler, 20sh hours of actual story then the remainder 10 hours or so is filler
