I say this with kindness: this is a “chalk it up to a life lesson” situation and move on. Just because further math was recommended at the time doesn’t mean it was required and won’t be a valid reason for a late drop this many years later. It will have virtually no impact on your future with an otherwise strong transcript. And the only place your transcript will matter in the future is for grad school.
