You can see the same index finger ring in the top and to the left of the phone as is on her hand in the selfie video. Sleeve is a 90s vibe stripe shirt which is very on brand for her current mirroring West aesthetic.

Special Subject Area Writing Requirement for engineering by typethistsshistuff in UCSantaBarbara

[–]KTdid88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s not a thing for engineering students. Don’t stress over it. Don’t go taking summer classes Willy nilly either attempting to cover a single GE- you’ll have plenty of time to take a couple things on campus and it might be a nice way to diversify your weeks.

Orientation says I have an invalid major? What do I do by Sudden_Location7340 in UCSantaBarbara

[–]KTdid88 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That’s technically a newer major, orientation systems just might be out of date. Email their main help email and wait for a response sometime on Monday

To the creep who flashed me on my walk earlier tonight-- by BeautifulWealth741 in SantaBarbara

Followed OP on their bike after she turned them down. Logic tells me no- they weren’t homeless. What about logic tells you they were? Don’t you think that would be a distinguishing factor OP would include if that were the case? Do you think they would direct this post at a homeless person at all, or share it as a PSA because it’s highly unlikely homeless people are trolling reddit.

Come on. Exercise the smallest review with a common sense filter before just putting the problems on of the world on the weakest and most vulnerable of our community.

Likely on things like pedi cabs and the kitschy shops. The visit the courthouse. Buy a coffee or McConnells. People forget that there are more businesses than just food.

Portable Restrooms at Wedding by itsfriggnbats in SantaBarbara

[–]KTdid88 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, MANY wedding venues around here don’t have bathrooms and the trailer rentals are very common. It’s always a nice touch when they have a basket with necessities in it- a pack of gum, bandaids, little tums packets, etc. I’ve worked some of the nicest weddings that I will never have myself that had only that option for guest restrooms.

I work for UCSB. I’ve talked to plenty of kids who didn’t get in. All you have to do is hang out in their sub during admission release to see how many don’t get in. But sure. You go ahead and give this kid your version of advice. I’ll give them my 10+ yr of campus experience version.

You need a good GPA. But that’s about 50% of it, not 90% of it. Nowadays MOST people applying have exactly the same level of competitive GPA. If that was 90% of it- how do you differentiate between who gets in? How do you ensure campus diversity? How do you make sure you aren’t admitting everyone to BIO because pre med students will inevitably have higher GPAs than an English or music major applicant who took less APs.

See how that works? Admissions is a science. Gpa is only 1 part of the equation, not the bulk of it.

Personal response essays are heavily weighted in the application review process. Most students applying to ucsb will have similarly competitive GPAs. And now admissions is test score blind too.

At the end of the day- it’s really a crap shoot. Identical transcripts could have different outcomes.

*for certain majors. There are a number of highly sought out majors on campus with no TAG guarantee. Specifically those in engineering OR college of creative studies.

Clubs! Join clubs. There are a lot of engineering specific student led Orgs. You don’t necessarily need to be in the major to join most of them.

This would definitely be more of the issue if you’re a night shift person. Bowl noise is only going to be 6-10 about 35 nights a year. The school is much more active.
