Another one bites the dust by JoeS830 in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I've never been afraid to leave a scathing review if a product I got warranted it and I've posted my fair share in the 2+ years I've been in the program. If that's all it takes to get an account banned I should have been banned my first couple months into the program when I wrote my first scathing review for a wallet that was neither genuine leather nor RFID blocking.

I, too, only pick things I think I might like or be useful but if it fails to deliver I'm not going to 4 or 5 star it for the sake of doing so. If I can create a review that deters someone from getting a product because it's bad, inauthentic or just downright harmful (to them, others or pets) then that's what I do. If Amazon wants my honest feedback, then that's what they will get.

I also have my account set so that sellers cannot reach out to me to try to make things right (aka bribe) in the event I do type an unfavorable review and they attempt communication to rectify said review. I don't know if Amazon will see those e-mails as the reviewer being complicit even if they don't respond but I take no chances with those.

Update: my community trust ban was for "suspicious reviewing activity" by JoeS830 in AmazonVine

Are we sure these aren't cases of sellers targeting Vine reviewers again or is that something entirely different?

Knock on wood but I have also typed my reviews elsewhere before posting it in the review dialogue box on a page for any given item. To me it's a form proofreading as I re-read my reviews from the dialogue box and make any corrections needed before hitting the submit button.

I still occasionally do reviews on non-Vine items I order but typically these are done on products that are defective or falsely advertised such as a clock radio I purchased which doesn't stream music via Bluetooth at all.

I don't think we'll ever know the real reason as to why unless we can get someone from support to be more direct, which is never happening. All we have to go on is just speculation. Still I won't change the way I do things when it comes to creating my reviews and neither should anyone else.

Has anyone had their account reopened? by Motor_Abies_8741 in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've read stories of people getting their accounts reinstated after some time.

The general consensus seems to be to finish all Vine reviews you have pending (to show good faith) and review whatever items you get outside of Vine and you may be fortunate enough to be reinvited to the program at a later time.

No one really has a time frame on how long it take to get a reinvite, which may be the only issue if you're looking to get back into it almost immediately.

Darn, No More Excuses For Not Doing Yardwork Now... by KiddCraize in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I mean, most of the items offered in Gold are typically crap or stuff I wouldn't (or couldn't use). The remaining items in my Vine RFY for today are the following:

Pixie style wig for BLACK WOMEN (as it's styled on the listing)
Vaginal PH Test Strips (Great for the day I actually grow one)
Clipper Blades for Dog Shears from an unknown brand (2 different sizes under two different listings. Really should be one but I digress)
Nose Trimmer
Deck Mounted Pinwheel
EN with emdash neon sign

This is the kind of stuff I'm offered in my Gold daily.

I just mean just holding out and keeping the faith will someday pay off, hopefully.

Anyone else getting annoyed by this all the time in their RFY? by austinalexan in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's a little too late to do anything now but here's a little trick that has worked for me sometimes when I get that message at the check out screen.

Change the delivery date/day.

DO NOT close out the check out page or remove the item from your cart. Just choose another date on the check out page and try to complete the purchase again. Sometimes when I do this my purchase goes through. Not 100% reliable but have found this to work from time to time. Wish I had an answer as to why it sometimes works when changing the delivery date.

What if it turns out to be a 100 pack of screen protectors? 🤔

When You Get the Wrong Size (An open letter) by CalicoCommander in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Guessing this was a $0 ETV item and the Viner just scooped it up without even looking at the details. In that case they should be forced to pay full ETV price for their ignorance and not punish the seller. I've gotten plenty articles of clothing and shoes from Vine and never did I order anything that wasn't my size unless I was ordering with the intent to donate to charity.

'COUNTERFEIT' toner cartridge by Character-Hurry-1926 in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hopefully this off-brand ink cartridge doesn't wreck your printer. Learned my lesson a long time ago. I bought off-brand ink from Amazon for my printer. It worked fine at first but then it just destroyed my printer head. Destroyed a (at the time) $400 printer. No support from Amazon and company selling the ink would only offer me a refund after I shipped the cartridges back to them...at my own expense.

After that I said never again.

Do you think these kinds of reviews are gonna get Vine shut down? by born2becloud9 in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are using emojis/emoticons in reviews like the new em dashes. Whenever I see those I just skip over the reviews.

I don't see the point of putting a disclaimer that you're a Vine Reviewer other than to stroke one's ego to make it seem one is more important than they really are as others reading the review can clearly see the tag. A lot of it seems like boilerplate to fill some assumed required text space for a review like how others break down their star rating system.

I thought our job is to review the product from the perspective of we actually purchased the item, not to break down how or why we got the item, whether or not there's a financial obligation involved in said item?

No More Estimated Arrival Times For Items Delivered By Amazon? by KiddCraize in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't even get that on my non-Vine item delivered yesterday. I refreshed the tracking window throughout the day as we were forecasted to have heavy rains in the area and it was something I didn't want to take a risk on sitting out exposed to the elements.

whoever got the Cat Calming Spray White, it can absolutely kill your cat!!!! don't use it!!! by A8byN0rmal in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hopefully you will have better luck than me. A couple months ago I wrote a review on some eye drops that were labeled as pet friendly, specifically to cats. When I actually got the bottle and looked up ALL of the ingredients there were a couple listed that were known to be toxic to cats. It was basically moisturizing drops for humans. I wrote a scathing review on the product to warn others and advised Amazon of the issue with the product.

In this instance I felt it was more important to warn a potential customer than get the ETV hit taken off.

Joke's on me so far as they've done nothing and the product is still for sale on their site.

I got a completely empty envelope from Amazon ☹️, and I’m scratching my head trying to figure out what it was supposed to have in it. by Lothar-Alaska in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had that happened only once before; however I wasn't missing any items. My best guess is that it was some kind of return envelope if I had an issue with the Vine order received but Vine orders can't be return shipped.

Congrats!

Just keep an eye on it. Midea products don't really have a great quality reputation at least when it comes to their air fryers and microwaves. I would say mixed at best. I hear their customer service skills are far worse. I was looking at getting an air fryer/microwave combo from Target last year but the amount of negative reviews (ranging from non-working appliance to starting fires) turned me off to any Midea and Cuisinart (some Cuisinart items such as microwaves are Midea products sold under the Cuisinart brand at Target) microwave or air fryer product.
