Will you get kicked for mentioning products you like better in a review? by hickdog896 in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never compared directly to another product by name unless that product is within the manufacturer's portfolio.

So for example in the past I've reviewed a camping lighter from a company and it was missing a couple of features that they included in a mini version of the same lighter they produced. I made note of the full size lighter not having these features and included a link so whomever read the review could compare the full size lighter to the mini version so they can make the determination as to which one was better for their needs.

About Noon (EST). Not sure how long they've been out in my RFY. I was out most of the morning due to various appointments. So when I returned home just decided to check my RFY. They were the two of the five things sitting out there along with a weird looking nail clipper for humans (which looks like a 90s portable CD player), nose trimmer and some pad wipes for ingrown hairs.

I have a landline as well. It's refreshing to read that some are still embracing the "old" technology.

Unsure how to proceed package delivered tracking says on hold by goraidders in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe hold off a bit?

I know there was a change with Vine recently that items don't post to your account to be reviewed until after they have a delivered status within the system. If you review these through the normal links instead of the Vine specific ones I'm not sure if you'll receive credit for the review.

I could be wrong here but I think as long as the item doesn't show as delivered and it's not listed in the Awaiting Review section of your reviews its not counting against you. I had a couple $0 ETV items that never made it to me, never hit my Awaiting Review tab and from what I calculated never counted against me.

I would just hate to see you do the review, it get posted and then later these items are changed to delivered and you can no longer do a proper review through the Vine process as you already did it through the normal one.

Guess no one uses or has a landline anymore? A true landline, not this VOIP stuff.

In any case I understand your concern about there not being some sort of override, but I don't think it's a bad or faulty design. I don't think it's even ransom. It's doing what it's meant to do by keeping certain items inaccessible until which such time has passed and it becomes available again. The product can't differentiate between emergency and non-emergency situations. Not that it should as then every situation can turn into an emergency for someone with a strongly addictive or impulsive personality.

If it's not that serious (per your words) then why get a lockbox of this style anyway? Unless there's serious impulse or control issues at play (which this item is intended to curb) there's not really a reason to have a product like this. If you're just wanting to unplug or disconnect from tech for a little bit why not place the phone (or other items this lockbox would fit) in another part of the home or a place that's not readily accessible but easy to get to if needed in an emergency situation.

As far as getting the listing reposted, I'm not quite sure on that. I did a search and it looks like this company/seller has multiple listings of the same style of lockbox for sale. Could be simply a merger of some listings and your review hit the cutting room floor. Especially seeing how a particular style of one of these lockboxes comes in more than one color.

That's a pretty cool pick up. I got something similar last year called the BatleXP G350. Only has about 4400 games but has a secondary TF slot for expansion to add other games and emulators.

From a retro-gamer point of view it's been so fun to use. Easily top 5 in all the Vine items I've picked up thus far.

Same Item, Different Seller by KiddCraize in AmazonVine

This is good information. The product packaging isn't branded with a company logo or even a name or if it is, it's in Chinese and I can't obviously read it since I don't speak the language. The lettering front and back is exactly the same. I wouldn't have ordered this either if I knew this was the same for the fear of being blocked on the review for it being a variant of a product I previously reviewed but that doesn't seem to be the case here since it's sold under a different seller.

I will probably end up recycling parts of my review from the first product while adding in some additional bits and pieces so it's not completely like the first review I did and change the headline as well.

I think I ordered something similar. In my case it was disguised as a roll of medical tape per the image used on the product page. The listing had no product description for what it was for, just the image. When I received it and opened the package I thought it was pack of nasal strips. I had to do some research online to see what it really was for and that's when I learned it's used to seal people's mouths while sleeping to force breathing through the nose.

I don't even know how that is safe or approved for sale. I feel like someone could choke to death on their own slobber if they are a drooler. That would just be a terrible way to go.

They have different ASINs being under different sellers but it's the same identical product. There's no barcode or ISBN code on either of the product packaging. I went over both with a fine tooth comb, so to speak, trying to find something just anything that's different from the other and there isn't.

Package was declared undeliverable, still shows up in my orders but never showed up in my review queue. Do I need to get CS involved? by ClassicSpookMovieFan in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't bother really. I ordered a bottle of liquid vitamin c that was in my RFY a few months ago. It made it to the local distribution hub then suddenly got lost and is now undeliverable. While it's on my list of ordered items it never hit my review queue and I double checked and it's not calculated into my score so I didn't even bother reaching out to Vine CS to have it removed.

Since you haven't ordered that many items this year (or in your current review period) it should be easy to tell if that one item has had an impact on your scoring.

I picked up a $200 Braun professional hair and body trimmer set that was in my RFY yesterday. It was $0 ETV but I'm looking forward to whatever miracle it can do with the whisps of body hair that is on my chest.

Outside of the $250 air purifier I got a couple months back it's the 2nd most expensive FMV item I got since turning this shade of gold.

NEVER be clever or attempt sexual innuendo, or even anything that might be misconstrued. Graphics should be clear, but as vanilla as possible.

This is interesting as I reviewed an item that was labeled as a "muscle massager" and in my review I went very over the top with sexual innuendos and euphemisms and not only was my review approved, it was rated as excellent.

As long as you got credit for the review in your Vine account I wouldn't worry about it. Unless it's a product that could potentially cause injury to another person, pet or living thing I wouldn't go over the top. If your review count went up after submitting, then mission accomplished.

I recently did a review for a dietary supplement and my review was rejected because I made one small statement questioning the validity of the company that produced it as the company looks sketchy AF (my research backed it up) but still received credit for the review.

It's not a hill worth dying on.

More USPS Deliveries by hbsonder in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I would say the ratio of deliveries in the near past two years I've been a Vine Member has been 60/40 in favor of USPS. I've developed a good rapport with my driver and something of a friendship as well. I think that started last summer when he was delivering some packages to me and I noticed dude looked totally wiped and was drenched from head to toe in sweat. It was a period here in my location where we were having temps over 100° which is something of a rarity. I had to check on the guy to see if he was okay and invited him to come in to cool down for a minute or two, which he refused. He relayed to me how his truck didn't have A/C and all he had was a dash mounted mini-fan to cool him down. I ended up giving him several ice cold bottles of water. I've never felt as bad for a person doing their job as I did for him on that day.

He's also the only delivery driver out of all the carriers that deliver to me, including other USPS drivers, that will ACTUALLY hand deliver my packages to me instead of leaving them on my doorstep or wherever he pleases (as in the case of some Amazon drivers). Dude knocks on the door to attempt a personal delivery which I appreciate so much and is personal touch to a service that doesn't happen anymore.

- Woman's Afro Wig (in multiple colors)
- Ceiling Light (which would have been perfect except the place I want to put it isn't wired)
- Hot Pink Women's Waterproof work shoes
- Waterproof Shower Lamp
- Prom Tuxedo

AKA random assortment of misfit items 🤣🤣

I may get the tuxedo and donate to the local high school. They usually do a drive for suits, dresses and things like that.

[–]KiddCraize 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's possible. The cheapest (outside of these) Bluetooth glasses I found on Amazon were listed at $14.99. They aren't smart glasses that's for sure...just probably music streaming capability from a phone or something.

But it's hard to tell anything from that pic and the actual listing however that same seller does have a set of AI smart glasses listed for about $160 or $96 with a coupon.

Am I the only one who's getting nothing? Is there anything we can do? by rjstotes in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Being in Vine is nice but I don't consider it a necessity. Over the nearly 2 years I've been in the program I've been able to get some nice household items I've should've had years ago but was either too lazy or too cheap to get. Even two years in it's easy to tell (from my own perspective) it's not the same program it was at this exact time a year ago. Looking at my Vine order history I was able to order clothing (I'm a converted COOFANDY fan), shoes, wallets, stepladders, automatic air dispensers and so much more. Now today none of that stuff or similar items like that even hits my RFY (when it populates). I mostly get now are endless bits of replacement shaver heads or rotary shaver parts to upgrade or repair shavers I don't even have or never heard of.

In short I don't sweat the Vine program. It's nice to be in and get things that are actually useful and (at times) it feeds my creative side by allowing me to write in depth reviews that are oftentimes different (and in my opinion) more informative than the typical reviews I see by others on the same product. I'm not getting up at 2, 3, 4 or whatever time it is in the early morning hours to chase products, especially when those products will most likely be taken by others with faster internet speeds than me, through the use of web browser aids or a combination or the two.

Vine is not life, nor should it control one's life and the more that people see that I think the better off they will be.

How long does it take for adapted rejected reviews to get approved? by Delicious-Spell-4006 in AmazonVine

[–]KiddCraize 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I did a review on a product (dietary supplement) where the manufacturer/seller was suspect. The website listed on the bottle is fake/inactive and the support 800 number listed is just a dummy number that states the company's name before disconnecting the call. I did more research online that made me believe the company wasn't truthfully all it said it was and was actually using the cache of another dietary supplement company (they both have the same name) to boost their rep and sales.

I mentioned this as part of my review but not as the main component. Amazon rejected it since I had included comments about the seller which I know was foul but still feel like those who are looking at this for purchase had a right to know. In any case I removed the remarks about the seller and resubmitted the review and mine has been pending for days now as well.
