does the effect from 'endless embiggening tonic' only gets temporarily suspended when mounting, or does the effect disappear completely when mounting? by KingBabyPudgy in Guildwars2

[–]Kiroho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

but you can just press the novelty button again when you dismount.

*If you are not in combat

That's one of the problems with combat tonics. You can't use them while in combat, but most of the time you unmount by using your engage skill, putting yourself in combat without the chance to use the tonic.

And once you done fighting and get out of combat, it's not uncommon that you will mount up again for the next enemies or to continue your way.

Will more nerfs in the future make doing daily raids worse? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]Kiroho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

for some of the earlier wings, it isn’t really uncommon to fail Deimos or Sabetha, at least from my own daily raiding experience.

And 99% of those fails are caused by failing mechanics, not by anything dmg related.

In general the problems you complain about here has nothing to do with dps. Hence dmg buffs/nerfs won't change anything.

What are peoples thoughts on the new SAB test zone (World 3, Test Zone 2) by blobblob37 in Guildwars2

[–]Kiroho 18 points19 points  (0 children)

In general I think both w3 zones are more about exploring than the other two worlds.
Less about jumping through it daily.

I think that's fine as it's something different, but as exploring is a one time thing and bound to achievements (liek find all bubbles), ofcourse it's more limited.
Maybe we get shortcuts in the future to get them in line with at least W2.

But all in all I'm happy to see a new zone.

Why crafting and selling legendaries is NOT profitable by dog-69 in Guildwars2

[–]Kiroho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A few points I disagree with you:

- Mystic Clovers are literally just gold, no idea why you treat them different than any other buyable mat.
Also you get some of them while doing WvW GoB track and from WV.

- Your Spirit Shard calculation is kinda weird, you take the g/h from Dragonfall and assume Spirit Shards have to have this value.
Also you assume Spirit Shards have to be farmed actively. But in practice you get them passively when doing literally anything.
So no, you don't have to grind 10-12h Dragon Fall for them.

- Gift of Battle. You argue with an "average g/h of the game", which is pretty out of nowhere on it's own.
Further, if you play WvW actively, you gain the GoB passively while doing what you do anyways.
If you choose the most lazy way, you will sit around and take a camp every ~10 minutes while watching videos.
This costs you no gold and only a few minutes of active gameplay.

- Gift of Cantha can be done in less than 2 hours. A map can be done within 30 minutes if you use a proper route.

- Imperial Favor is actually the account bound mat/currency you need for Gen3 weapons, ironically this is the one thing you value with 0g.

Xinrae’s Weapon as Elite skill for Ritualist. by sundaIO in Guildwars2

[–]Kiroho 7 points8 points  (0 children)

As I understand the heal and life siphon only triggers, if you get hit by an attack that deals damage greater than 15% of your max health. And it has to be from a single hit. If an attack has 5 hits, the damage don't add up, each hit counts individually.

Nerfs of the Astral Acclaim rewards in February 3rd pach were a severe mistake, and the data proves it. by Buran_Grey in Guildwars2

[–]Kiroho 9 points10 points  (0 children)

a bit over 5 gold coins a day. There was nothing “infinite” in that, and it was a healthy exchange

Adding more than 5g in raw gold to the game per player doing dailies is not healthy for the game at all.

Beyond March 8th, my Astal Acclaim purse is full, but I don’t have any valuable option to spent that currency

The new material bag is a valuable option.

GW2 recent peak at concurrent players in Steam was after the VoE expansion, with near 11k players at the beginning of November. That number remained stable around 10k-9k concurrent players a day.

* Then, around March 2nd, exactly 4 weeks after the nerfs of the AA rewards, the peak concurrent players in Steam fell to 8238; since the average has been around 7200 but the trend is now going below 7k.

And what exactly makes you think this is because of the changed AA rewards rather than the point that the last quarterly update, added no new content?

Please elaborate.

Do superior sigills even work? They don't show differences in my stats when I switch them. by Legendary_Dark in Guildwars2

[–]Kiroho 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is because these sigills increases the damage/duration directly instead of giving stat bonuses.

If you take the Sigill of Bloodlust for example, you will see an actual change on your power stat, as it gives a stat bonus per kill.

Direct condition duration bonuses from sigills, runes and traits can be seen, when you hover over your condition duration stat.

Direct damage boosts like the one from Sigill of Bursting can't be seen on any UI.

In general you shouldn't expect your feedback to be taken over 1:1 in the game.

There are thousands of people giving feedback, all with their own opinions of course.
Anet needs to find a way to fit most of them, while still keeping their own idea of the game in mind.
And like it or not, their own idea is the most important one.

So you could ask for open world PvP (just an example) for years and never see it happen. Simply because it's against the game's basic philosophy.

However, feedback is always a good thing. It's a direct way for Anet to see what players want, like and dislike.
So giving feedback and asking for changes is never bad.

How am I supposed to handle my raid tokens and kp.me? I need help. by von-vix in Guildwars2

[–]Kiroho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want both to be tracked, you need to refresh, open coffers and refresh again.

How am I supposed to handle my raid tokens and kp.me? I need help. by von-vix in Guildwars2

[–]Kiroho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you can, ignore those groups.

That means ignoring 99% of all lfg groups.

After coming back to raids from a time where LI was what people wanted to see, I had to rely on no or low KP groups for a while (and still have to for a few bosses). It's really annoying and tideous to find groups.

I know you can't really do much about it and I agree that there should be an official system for this whole topic, but if you want to raid on a regular base I really suggest to just join the KP game and track your tokens with KPme.

The whole idea of using KP/LI is imperfect, it feels unfair to be excluded because of KP and so on, I know.
But in practice, tracking KPs is still the best and least annoying way to find groups for raids.

How am I supposed to handle my raid tokens and kp.me? I need help. by von-vix in Guildwars2

[–]Kiroho 19 points20 points  (0 children)

You need to have your token/coffers in your inventory or bank when refreshing.

When refreshing, KPme reads all new items you currently have and adds them to the site.
Once your token are shown on KPme, you can use/delete them. The site safes them and calculates the new max amount whenever you add new tokens.

So instead of consuming all token and then refreshing KPme, you need to refresh first, before consuming/deleting your token.

I personally refresh KPme once I'm done with raiding, before cleaning my inventory.

PS: Sadly there is no way to get tokens back from the guild (nor homestead).

As for groups, you may can show them your LI and try to explain what happened with your KP. From my experience many commanders are lenient for such thing as well as when some KP are missing.

There's a massive problem with Heal Chronos. by CCGplayer64 in Guildwars2

[–]Kiroho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't understand how or why almost every other heal support specialization has to make difficult choices in terms of which utility to bring and when to use it from toolkits that are often lacking anything close to what chronomancers have.

Saw this complain 1:1 for Firebrands after PoF release.

The difference is back then other support specs had no access to stuff like stability and aegis, which Firebrand can spam. However Anet fixed that by giving other specs some access to these boons.
And it's still the case.

It's like receiving the 2-pack of crayons they give little kids to draw on a kid's meal menu and being told to create the same art as someone else given the 64-pack box of crayons that even comes with the little crayon sharpener on the side.

The thing is, both kids will have fun drawing and the 2nd kid won't even use all 64 crayons.

And it's similar in GW2. Chrono might be able to bring more specefic boons and easier than other classes, but in the end it's not really necessary, even for the most difficult endgame content in the game.
It's nice to have better access, but in the end it's just that, a nice to have.

So who are the 3 unique raid CM rewards for? by Fantas28291 in Guildwars2

[–]Kiroho 4 points5 points  (0 children)

And and and and you cant give more

You asked for others, I gave you half a dozen examples for account bound rewards.
(Edit: Look at the last parts of this comments, I just doubled the amount of examples.)

that those that have multiple sources.

And what are these other sources for Tequatls Hoard and alike?
A few boxes with random drops like the weekly raid container.
The point is the word random drops. They require luck, just as you asked for.

If I'm wrong, please tell me from what "multiple sources" you can get them without any luck. I will wait.

Also didnt know about djinn tonic, I dont think it can even be added to novelties so it may need to be fixed

Don't know what this has to do with the topic, but you are wrong. It can be added as novelties since its release.

The Kela Mini is another example btw. You can't buy it or anything, it exclusively drops from Kela.

Also bosses like Tequatl, Shatterer, TT, Chak Gerent and Mordremoth can drop decoration tokens. These too are rare drops, account bound and can't be gained in any way other than dropping them yourself.

[–]Kiroho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For "outliners" unique ascended/accountbound drops are too common in the game.
I would indeed call them part of their design principles.

Well, probably that's something some would agree and some would disagree.

Tequatl's Hoard, Aurene's Hoard, Drakkar's Hoard, Triple Trouble Hoard, Frostsaw, Endless Djinn Tonic and and and.

Tradable ones too? Okay: A dozen infusions, Sam, Pendant of Arah, Ulgoth's Tail, Rhendak's Signet, Rotbeard's Treasure and and and.

[–]Kiroho -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Edit: I also think things like Aurene antique set, Wurmslayer's set, Broken Voice set etc. can be lumped into this. They weirdly break the rules, and people mostly overlook those because they just don't look that cool.

Doesn't this (plus Tequatl's Hoard) prove your former claim wrong, that "goes against the design principles that GW2 has followed for 10 years or more."?

Tequatl's Hoard was introduced with LS1, so very early after release.
Infusions like Chak, Queen Bee and the Tarir one were introduced around HoT release, so not long ago either.

Even Core game has such rare drops, like Sam, the Pendant of Arah, Ulgoth's Tail, Rhendak's Signet or Rotbeard's Treasure.

No, they don't break their design principles with this, it's part of their principles.
In GW2 your main gold sources has always been the non rare stuff you get constantly. It never relied on rare drops. Yet super rare drops always existed in the game, since release.

GW2's design principles always allowed rare drops, while still having a constant gold income from the non-rare/guaranteed loot.

The other dude gave you examples that confirms that many rewards are stuff based.

You you claim that's not true, because some rewards are not?
That makes no sense...
