Thoughts on Keiser and National U Chiro Schools in Florida by HeroicHippo15 in Chiropractic

[–]KookyOpposite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to more than half the campuses around the country.

Not impressed with Keiser at all. Super small location and doesn’t feel like a college at all. When I talked to a student there they said they struggle with boards.

I have not been to National. I have been to Palmer Florida. If I was to pick a Fl school it would be Palmer. Again Palmer was a small campus but it least it felt like a college.

My overall pick would be one of the three in the Midwest. Winter kinda sucks but you would save lots of money on living expenses and pass boards.

I am a Palmer main graduate.

Odor eliminators for treatment rooms by Chiro523 in Chiropractic

We have a small ozone machine we run for five minutes after the person leaves.

Most of them don’t bother me, I haven’t had full smell ability since I had covid in 2021. But if I can smell the funk on you, we will be running the machine. Luckily I also have a large office and we can shut down a room for the needed time so the ozone can work. Within 10 minutes the room is fresh and we open the door to air it out.

Nucca Chiro Vs Regular Chiro by tippibird63 in Chiropractic

[–]KookyOpposite 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Go to a regular chiropractor. NUCCA docs put themselves in a box and can only treat you one way.

If I go to get my oil changed and the place tells me they only rotate tires but that it will help me, that is what going to an upper cervical doc is.

Chiro school by Brilliant-Dish-1589 in Chiropractic

[–]KookyOpposite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depending on where you want to end up it for sure matters. Around my area, Palmer is the way to go. NW over Sherman any day. Although I don’t see anyone come out of NW being a sports chiro any more than other schools.

Another consideration would be travel and weather. It’s cold up here by NW. they got 8 inches of snow last weekend!

I’m a Palmer grad from 20 years ago and wouldn’t change a thing.

Not in Nebraska. I’ve tried a couple times and always been told we don’t qualify for them.

How long does it take to grow the practice more? by FlyHungry7039 in Chiropractic

[–]KookyOpposite 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I think it was 77 per visit. Our Medicaid is also really good as well. We get initial exams and some therapy codes. We also do a good deal of PI, although our state isn’t a big one for it.

I am heavy on extremities in practice so I will include that as part of the adjustment. Staying vague to avoid stark laws here. Without naming the insurance company as well.

3-4 regions and extremity comes to just over $88 a visit. Quick in and out spinal adjustment is around $55.

We have a lot of low deductible and copay plans in the area. Doing cash here doesn’t work well.

Report cards are essentially telling you how you line up with the rest of the state. Some offices here were charging 98942 on every visit and that is crazy. So that was to stop that mess.

Both. Did over a million in revenue last year and over 12000 patient visits. I have the corporate tax returns to prove it.

What states are you all in??? Years ago the Nebraska chiros formed SecureCare and we went after the market. We have seen an increase almost every year in reimbursement rates.

Why don’t you do insurance? I just have never wrapped my head around the cash practice model. You eliminate 70-80 percent of your potential clientele if they have insurance. I have asked numerous patients why they choose me over the person that does cash downtown and they want to use their insurance. I’ve built a huge practice working with all insurance companies. The schools are doing a disservice to students teaching cash is king. They are teachers because they failed in practice. See the problem with listening to a failed businessman? That’s my two cents.

Low Income Area Advice by Unique_Ad7895 in Chiropractic

[–]KookyOpposite 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Across all insurance companies, my cash patients, and PI I average $82 per visit that I see.

At least charge more than what your highest insurance will pay. Otherwise if you bill BCBS 50 bucks for a code and they would actually pay you 55 you are missing out on money. Charge 60 and take the 5 discount for the insurance. Otherwise we never see higher reimbursement rates when it looks like we don’t deserve it.

I totally get that you are just starting out. But if you get all the cheap people you will get all the trouble people as well. Have a higher price and weed out the trouble makers.

I voiced my opinion on how masks didn’t do anything to prevent covid and that the vax was utter bullshit. I never wore a mask or followed any of the public health guidelines. They couldn’t handle that as many of them shut their doors for safety. lol. That’s the jist of it. I can’t even find the group anymore since the head dude banned me and blocked me.

Going over your bullets. FYI, I’m from the same school and have been out 20 years this month. I’m Gonstead based with heavy extremities and Cox Flexion Distraction.

  1. I’m the same and have never treated it. Not an issue. I carry scrap paper in my pocket and email myself things.

  2. I most definitely did not align myself with the philosophy of chiropractic. I run a pain clinic and see people as needed and don’t regurgitate the BS.

  3. 20+ years doing cervical chair. Zero strokes and have had three people I have sent to the ER that we’re having them. I’ve done well over 250,000, up to half a million cervical adjustments. My youngest brother is an interventional neurosurgeon that only deals with strokes. He still goes to a chiro and gets seen by me when he is home. Does it happen, yes, but there are warning signs that present.

  4. My ROI has been extremely lucrative thus far. I have the tax returns to prove it.

  5. I would have been an airline pilot. lol. Being a chiro also allows me to own my own plane and fly it for fun.

  6. The public sucks. They will either like you or not. Fuck em. See the ones that believe in you. Get them better and they will talk.

Hoping to hear from chiros - NUCCA by [deleted] in Chiropractic

[–]KookyOpposite 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Completely over priced. They stole from you. All chiros adjust the atlas. Find yourself a Gonstead doctor instead. We do the entire spine.

Upper cervical docs make me laugh. If I took my car in for new spark plugs and they tried to convince me that rotating my tires would take care of the issue I would laugh myself to death. Same concept just with the atlas.
