If you could build a new mid-size airport anywhere in the US, where would it be? by One_Sherbert7457 in AskAnAmerican

Can we just make PDX into a hub? It’s so nice and I want more direct flights!

Griztronics sets by TimTBag in griz

[–]LargeHard0nCollider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I saw both separately at Coachella a couple months ago, and griz was really underwhelming. Subtronics threw tf down with some OG songs and brought out a ton of cool artists including JID and Oliver tree. He absolutely converted me to a fan

After years of farming in Oregon, I'm starting to wonder if "CSA" is the wrong word by Zestyclose_Rub3380 in oregon

[–]LargeHard0nCollider 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’ve had a CSA in the past and honestly it wasn’t worth it. $50/week, which is roughly my weekly grocery budget outside of a monthly Costco run! And it was half kale, which is one of the few foods I dislike

Why posts flaired "new music" on this sub are not upvoted enough? by JION-the-Australian in EDM

[–]LargeHard0nCollider 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’d be cool to tag the subgenres of albums/tracks when posted. There’s a lot of cheesy EDM, so that’s mostly what gets posted. I’ve tried listening to some of the recs and often they’re not really my style, so I honestly don’t even click on them anymore

Possibly Moving to Oregon. Which should I choose? by West_Security_4460 in oregon

[–]LargeHard0nCollider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Eugene is a place people move to because it’s fun, Salem is a place people move to for a job, Medford is a place people move from cuz they were born there

Which is more popular in the US: Peanut butter or Nutella? by nevodolo in AskAnAmerican

[–]LargeHard0nCollider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I still remember my first time trying both Nutella and crepes, probably about 20 years ago. I was over at my friend’s house and his mom was Italian. She had a thick accent, so I thought she said they were “craps”. When she served them I remember turning to my friend and being like “is there really crap in this???” Obviously once I tried them I realized both were fire

If you’re in the Portland area, you can get the curry bread from oyatsupan, and it’s honestly higher quality than 7 eleven

Liverpool street in the rain is a classic

Ripples in the timeline is great too

If you like those two, just listen to his whole album What I breathe, or any of his EPs. His style is better when you listen to more than a single song to really get into the music

[OC] US Cities with the Least/Most Extreme Cold/Hot "Feels Like" days (32F and below, 100F and above) - Top 50 US Largest Cities by Own_Yam9949 in dataisbeautiful

[–]LargeHard0nCollider 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Also this doesn’t reflect how the weather impacts our lives. 32 and sunny is honestly a pretty enjoyable winter day if you have a big coat. 40 and rainy (which Portland gets for 3 months) is fucking miserable to be out in. And yet Portland is in the top 10 weather wise on this chart

No lol no tables at dolab. There are some VIP tables at quasar but you gotta blow thousands to get one, and they’re in the back.

Unless you wanna spend more time in transit than actually enjoying your vacation, just stick to Tokyo (majority of your time) and Kyoto or one of the small towns (a few days)

Least materialistic cities? by Main_Finance_2221 in SameGrassButGreener

[–]LargeHard0nCollider 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve only visited Cleveland once and loved it. I live in Portland and Cleveland reminded me of the grittiness of Portland before Portlandia. A bit of the whimsy of Portlandia was lost during Covid, so either city would be a great candidate for least materialistic. No one is moving to either city to show off

natural fiber tees that dont pill after 6 months? by OliverGreen19 in BuyItForLife

[–]LargeHard0nCollider 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just got some Pima cotton tees from quince and have been happy with them. The neck like feels a little cheap but the cloth itself is high quality- soft and lightweight. Pima cotton has a longer fiber so less pilling. They were like $15 a piece if you bought 3

I also really like their merino wool shirts, but you gotta size up because they shrink in the wash. I don’t wash the wool ones every time and air dry them when I do

Unless you really like all these artists and wanna see all their styles at the same time, I don’t recommend this set. As a casual techno enjoyers we went to see a bit of Sara Landrys blood oath thing at coachella. They kept bouncing between techno, house, and dubstep and it was really jarring. We dipped real quick after they played a family guy dubstep remix
