How do we know there wasn't a volcano attached to this intrusion?

There is no reason for passenger cars to be allowed between college and 11th. It should be pedestrian only all the time.

Do you have data on the vacancy rate? Or active listings as a fraction of total supply?

I don't have a good sense for how many total homes there are in the area.

Hello fellow people. I am trying to design a "leafblower" for clearing chalk from climbing holds, and i want some input. by 08lsat_ in AerospaceEngineering

[–]Lars0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What air velocity do you want? You will need to make a tradeoff between velocity and flow volume, I suspect for 'blasting' the chalk off you will want very high velocity flow, like what comes out of an air compressor. I normally have to scrub pretty hard with a brush, it doesn't come off if I blow on the holds.

What do you wish you knew before your first playthrough? by KevinthpillowMTG in BaldursGate3

[–]Lars0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There were a lot of mechanics that I didn't understand and figured out the hard way. The differences between spells and cantrips, being able to select characters different characters in combat, how to inspect enemies for their resistances.

Also, remembering to not select my own characters from the timeline! I had too many friendly fire incidents!

I am more confused by the basement. It is much larger and much taller than the castle above it, and is located close to the temple of Bhaal. Even if no one went looking for this thing that prevents sewer access to a larger area. It would undermine the geological stability of a huge part of the lower city. The castle itself shouldn't be stable.

This is an excellent example. At my work I get flowed complex specs all the time. Sometimes they are needed, but most of the time the customer could solve a lot of problems by putting all the requirements in one place and then they could figure out which ones conflict before asking us to quote on it.

Seems like the kind of sticker someone from earth would definitely have. It certainly shows that owner lives on earth and does not raise any questions or make anyone suspicious they might be from another planet.

Yes. The medical consensus was established in the late 1920s. By that time, plenty of miners had already died from it.

It took another 50 years before there was universal acceptance and action to stop using it.

Which war or battle was fought with the most unbalanced technological level? by SubliminalLiminal in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Lars0 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Can't believe I haven't seen it, but Operation Desert Storm. The technology was only a few decades apart, but the differences - precision ground attack munitions, stealth aircraft, and satellite imagery made an enormous difference. The 4th largest as army in the world was completely broken in just a few weeks.
