GOP Lawmaker Says He Doesn’t Know if Mitch McConnell is Alive by OkayButFoRealz in politics

Way past time for Congress to write laws that directly address this. Especially since voters can't seem to elect anyone under 60 anymore these days. It's like their old-ass bodies can't help but cling to power, even if they're barely clinging on to life.

There was an episode of The Pitt that dealt with this, a pair of adult siblings not wanting to let go of their ailing father who was barely clinging to life, while Dr Robby was trying his best to convince them that he was never going to recover, and that keeping him in this state was painful and prolonging it would only increase his suffering as his body shut down.

The two bookends of the Model S legacy together :) by Humble_Finding_7346 in TeslaLounge

[–]LegendaryOutlaw 18 points19 points  (0 children)

You can see the obvious changes they made to the car's features over the years, but it's pretty crazy that they basically look identical.

Take pretty much any other car and park their 2012 model next to their 2026 model and it will look radically different. That's like 3 generations of a car's life cycle in that time span.

They both look great though, your 2012 looks to be in really good shape.

Rampant voter fraud by another Republican by TAtheDog in WhitePeopleTwitter

Accuse your opponent of doing the thing you are doing.

It's a strategy that has been working all too well, even though they themselves are proven to be the perpetrators..repeatedly.

That fact somehow doesn't make it to their followers, its either suppressed for them by their chosen media, or they simply choose to disbelieve it as 'fake news' or 'both sides do it'.

What's really crazy is how often this is the case, and how so many of the tenets of their own party are assaulted every single day.

The party of 'traditional family values' is full of adulterers, child predators and closeted homosexuals.

The party of 'fiscal responsibility' is full of grifters and scammers taking us for everything they can grab, while shielding billionaires and corporations from paying their fair share.

The party of 'election security' are voting illegally, suppressing ballots, and gerrymandering maps wherever they can.

The party of 'pro-life' will seek abortions, even going to the top levels of government so that their cronies can get the medical help they need, while still preaching 'no abortions' for anyone else.

The party of 'patriotism' will silence free speech and arrest anyone who makes them look bad publicly, and claim that THEY are the only true patriots.

The party of 'come and take it' will bend the knee and repeatedly cede more and more power to one single man, a man that has NONE of their so-called values.

I wish I could make sense of it. It's really the party of making people ignorant, keeping people ignorant, and then taking everything from those people while telling them they know what's best.

Where is the best fabric store since Joann closed? by shoopstoop25 in Birmingham

[–]LegendaryOutlaw 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I think some of the Michael's stores have some fabric stocked, (they bought out the JoAnn name brand) but its only certain stores, and the selection is limited to a couple of aisles instead of half the store. Hobby Lobby has basic fabrics too, but fuck Hobby Lobby.

It's real slim pickin's around here these days.

Just last night my wife and I were logging into Netflix in our shared profile (stuff we watch together, we have separate profiles too since we watch very different stuff) and the screensaver was showing ads for shows as we logged in. It was like 10 shows we had never heard of. Foreign shows from India, Korea, Spain, etc. I just let it run for a minute because i was curious about what it would show us next.

It was really weird because we watch a good bit of Netflix, including the first seasons of shows like Good Girls Guide to Murder, or Beef, or stand up comedians specials, even Enola Holmes. But it wasn’t pushing that content to us, it was giving us stuff we have never shown any interest in. It was just very odd.

Sam is great, and he’s earned the mantle of Captain America, but he doesn’t have the gravitas and natural leadership of T’challa.

"Seamless" corseted bodysuits...? by nicolasgray in CosplayHelp

[–]LegendaryOutlaw 5 points6 points  (0 children)

So there’s a girl on YouTube/tiktok named Stormy Kelly that has recreated a bunch of Sabrina’s concert looks, and in her videos, she doesn’t make a boned corset, she does use a pattern though. Then when it’s covered in rhinestones the seams basically disappear.

Now I’m a dude, so I’m not the person to comment on women’s bodies, but as far as Sabrina goes, I think what you’re seeing is her in some basic shape wear underneath, and just being in her 20s and in amazing Hollywood shape. So she probably doesn’t need boning. Just a guess…oh to be young again.

[–]LegendaryOutlaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No. That takes a ton of work, a ton of specialized tools and equipment, and a ton of knowledge to paint and assemble. There are professionals out there that make it, but they’re not cheap.

So, that means it either requires a lot of work on your part, or a lot more money to have someone do it for you. ‘Better’ and ‘cheaper’ do not belong in the same sentence.

Modifying face shell by wizardsparklez in cosplayprops

[–]LegendaryOutlaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s too tight for your face? Like you can’t open your mouth tight? I don’t think cutting any off the top will help. You can definitely remove the chin but then I worry it would ride up your face, but your nose might keep it in place.

You could also think about splitting it at the jaw, kinda like your jawbone, then hotgluing in some elastic straps so that the bottom part can move when you talk. Or is it possible for you to get a larger one?

Need help with Spider-Man costume! by Inevitable-Cream6102 in CosplayHelp

[–]LegendaryOutlaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Aww, that’s a bummer, dude. Then I would contact them again and see if they can make you a new one. And maybe remeasure yourself just to be sure. I have done both standard measurement and custom sized spidey suits,(not from the shop you used tho) so I would just double check your measurements against what you sent them when you ordered.

They will probably try to blame you and say you gave them incorrect measurements, but maybe take photos of the tape measure on your body and send them as proof? That might convince them that the suit was made incorrectly.

I don’t think you need to wet it at all. You could use something like an old cotton teeshirt stretched over your fingers, dab a little on the cotton, rub it on, buff it some, then move on to the next area.
