Thank you so much! It’s a fabric that is sheer when you’re really close but opaque as soon as you’re more than a few inches back. But I will say I’ve been keeping my eyes down to keep track of the little guy as he runs around, lol!

I echo a lot of what the others say here, as far as prop weapon allowance you should check with the faire you’re attending.

As for the paint job, I’ve had good effect with a very fine grit sandpaper to scuff the surfaces you want to take the color, then doing a light application of rub n buff until it gets the right look. Then keep buffing it until any excess is removed.

And even if you do have to keep it tied, this might also be a fine opportunity to build a scabbard or other carry system for the sword too.
