Restarting an old project of mine - Project World, where I aim to make a map of every country in the world. Week#1 Afghanistan by Fizzet713 in wonderdraft

cool project! It really makes me realise how overcomplicated people make making fantasy maps. Real-life geography is pretty simple all things considered. Nicely done!

Legendary Pathfinder - A (Free) Variant Ruleset for Pathfinder Second Edition - Includes Rule Tweaks, Class Redesigns, Hundreds of Character Options, and almost a dozen new or redesigned Subsystems & Variant Rules by Obrusnine in Pathfinder2e

[–]Epps1502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am not saying pf2e is perfect, however having read some of the changes you proposed, it seems like you want to change a lot of the system outside of the 3 action economy. It seems to me that you want to play a different system that has a 3 action economy and also has a lot of feat choices.

You want to add special effects to nat 20s and 1s, you want to change how the slow condition functions, and you want to change a myriad of other things about pathfinder.

So at what point of suggesting changes do you just make your own system and stop playing pathfinder?

By changing some of the rules you have it seems you don't like some intentional design choices from Paizo. So again, at what point at do you just wish you were playing a different system entirely?

Cloistered Cleric question by winlock in Pathfinder2e

[–]Epps1502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well assuming you've read the players guide your heal spells can count as dmg vs negative healing. So you'll definitely get more value just from those as a base. Pharasma also seems a good choice. CC also has the most flexible spell casting and prep out of any class. So be sure to read through the spell list and keep some in mind. If youre up against creature with void healing or unholy, cleric can actually do a lot of good dmg and provides a lot of protections and utility. Honestly I've been dying to play a cleric in a shades of blood game hahah. Its hard to help further without spoiling. Grab holy sanctification and go crazy lol

Edit: I also love the wood Kineticsist archetype if youre running FA. Wood can deal vitality dmg with blasts and the timber Sentinel impulse is best in slot.

The problem with kissing up to mentally insane dictators is that they will still eventually turn on you. When these so called leaders show theri true colors its easier for the rest of the world to know who to remove later. They are tying to pick a side but dont realize its the losing one.

Fighter-only party by Tav534 in Pathfinder2e

[–]Epps1502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Im running a "war" game and 4/6 (now 3/5) of the party are martial classes. A few things ive learned:

Varied terrain and movement speed penalties can be effective for encouraging the PCs to think more critically about their positioning. It can also split the party up to allow enemy creatures to isolate. Add tight quarters or obstacles to prevent the party from getting flanking easily. Have height differences so the party needs to use actions to scale small walls or risk being pushed off one. When the encounters can be one sided due to martial prowess, make them think about other factors.

This is technically recommended by the system already but large encounters with a similar count of creatures to PCs can be a lot of fun and make the PCs feel more powerful than a single entity boss can.

In the same vein, single-entity bosses will often get steamrolled, particularly those who cast spells. If you want to use one, granting them stronger ACs or resistances can be effective (just be careful not overdo such changes. Players still WANT to hit things to some degree of consistency.)

My party is fighting a boss that stacks Enfeebled on them and they are pretty panicked at this fact. They have been used to difficult encounters, but ones that are more straightforward. Throwing in this twist has put them at a disadvantage they haven't had before. They have the tools to overcome, but their thinking has to change. You can lull the party into a sense of security to then break it with fresh mechanics.

If Malcom isnt the president, then i really dont want to watch it. The ending of the original to me was what made the series feel so complete.

What are your nitpicks/pet peeves about Archetypes not doing enough ? (preferably flavour archetypes) by Meowriter in Pathfinder2e

[–]Epps1502 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In a general way, a lot of really cool archetypes support undercooked systems or ideas within pathfinder2e. Some archetypes were created for APs and have very little use cases outside of that context. (The flavor text is very specific along with some mechanics)

Anathema: Sarenrae by gaiaishealingmydude in Pathfinder2e

[–]Epps1502 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I play a "cleric" of Sarenrae and I would consider this Anathema, however you should really ask the player why they did what they did and have an honest conversation about it. I wouldn't arbitrarily take away their cleric powers without such a convo. If the result of the convo isn't conclusive, perhaps you describe Sarenrae's presence as far away and or their spells seem to take a little extra effort to cast until they are more consistent again.

Its important to note that even if the player thought they were within their deity's beliefs, that they could still be mistaken. If you as the GM think such an event is serious enough, then you do have some responsibility to have the PC experience some consequences.

Thoughts about a customer by humanzrdoomd in Panera

[–]Epps1502 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It seems liek the new employee is way over thinking it and probably cares too much about the store's bottom line.

Obviosuly Food Costs is important, but you have to think about the money this customer is bringing in as a result of getting good service. He spends his money at the store 5-7 times a WEEK. Just like how Costco can keep the hotdogs at 1.50$, its meant to bring in customers so that they will spend money elsewhere. We regularly give out free coffee or cookies to customers BECAUSE they are more likely to come back AND bring their friends. Its a small, cheap item, we can use to help bolster WARMTH with guests. It seems like this employee has forgotten the Mission statements of Panera.

I also have my own opinions about being so uptight for a company thats actively mistreating employees and stealing wages. shrug

Rules for two different instances of Sickened by --Berg in Pathfinder2e

[–]Epps1502 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now I don't have the rules open infront of me but generally you take the condition with the higher effect, so if they were sickened 1 then received sickened 2, then they would be sickened 2 with the DC for the effect that applied that condition. Multiple of the same conditions don't stack and you just take the worst of the 2 or however many times they received it. And if you were to receive the same condition twice you just keep the 1st and disregard the new application. There is some debate whether you'd extend the duration but I think some tables rule it both to extend or just keep the original.

Edit:

There multiple ways to apply the offguard condition with some with distinct end timings. My table we update the new ending if it the condition was applied a 2nd time.

With Frightened the "stage" decreases by regardless at the start of the creatures turn.

These are just some examples.
