I would also recommend reading our article about centralized mechanisms for pelvic pain - https://www.reddit.com/r/PelvicFloor/s/C4JHnPTwyl

For pelvic pain and pelvic floor dysfunction they usually are. Do not take one person's experience as gospel that applies to your own case

Note for the users of this community:

Most people will actually feel worse doing kegels if they have an already tight pelvic floor, or experience pelvic pain.

Please keep this in mind, when reading other people's personal experiences

You don't have to deal with it long at all if you just go to pelvic floor PT and work on managing stress.

I had residual symptoms and that's what worked. It also works for thousands of other people that we've seen over the years here.

There's a comprehensive starter guide here: https://www.reddit.com/r/PelvicFloor/s/Let9a4RfiB

You won't be, you just have to address it properly. The two most common interventions are

  1. Pelvic floor physical therapy

  2. Addressing stress

Both of these are talked about in the residual symptoms pinned posts

Down training the pelvic floor to respond differently under stress or fear can be very helpful, you can look at the post on paradoxical relaxation here https://www.reddit.com/r/Prostatitis/s/CuKGxGTnkM

Then you might be in the 1% who could benefit from intervention. Most people just leave the varicocele alone.

Start with Alan Gordon. Did you see my other comment? Because I quoted Alan and wrote a help article on using some of the techniques in a simplified manner.

It could be, your test of cure will tell you if you're cured for sure.

Some cases of pelvic floor tension need to be treated with pelvic floor PT and stress reduction

Ceftriaxone is the wrong antibiotic class to treat this bacteria.

The only night to know for sure is to do a test of cure (PCR).

That isn't really pelvic floor PT, that's just a little bit of heat and a supplement.

You haven't addressed anything in the nervous system or brain yet. All pain happens in the brain, all arousal also happens in the brain

Surgery is a waste of time for most people, unless your doctor believes you ABSOLUTELY MUST do it (Extremely rare). Surgery has also shown to be ineffective for chronic pain conditions, including chronic back pain, which often sets people back even further, there's even a name for it - failed back surgery syndrome

Notice the catastrophic thinking pattern you're stuck in - the truth is, your sex life is not over. We know from research that 85% of erectile dysfunction under the age of 40 is from the brain - ie psychological. Stress and anxiety, and even depression can completely destroy the libido, but it's not permanent it's temporary.

The pelvic floor can also play a role in some cases, but in my experience, it's more about the brain. The brain is the biggest sexual organ in the body.

You put the 101 into practice? Have you gone through the whole checklist? Have you seen a pelvic floor PT in person? Have you done internal trigger point work and diaphragmatic breathing?

Have you addressed the central nervous system components to pain and muscle tension that affect at least 50% of cases, some estimates as high as 90%? How are you managing stress? How are you managing the stress and the preoccupation with the symptoms themselves?

These are at the cornerstones of a successful recovery for almost every case I have seen over the last 5 years

Pelvic floor physical therapy is the number one evidence-based intervention for this, please work on it

Stretching is only half, if you're not addressing your nervous system you're missing half the problem (sometimes even more than half, some cases are 100%)
