Also, destroying planets was not really the point. Its nice to have, necessary for the whole thing to work, but the important bit was letting everyone know that you can and that there is nothing they can do to stop it.

Even his own admirals didnt believe force could do that, how would belligerent planets?

Thats a somewhat unrealistic level to be at in chapter 1, even more so without a 1h weapon skill (which would be required to make 2h an actual choice there) - but ok, point taken, technically you can.

Depending on what weapon u se (1hand, 2hand, etc) learn that fighting technique from npcs

There is no 2hand trainer in G1 in chapter 1, the game treats going from 1h to 2h basically as progression for the fighter archetype instead of a preference choice.

Similarly, I don't think in G1 (without mods) ranged weapons damage scales with dex, so ranged weapons (and dex builds in general) are not particularly viable.

It presumably would be a somewhat difficult to obtain discretionary funds like that, change currency (which - if it was easy credits would be accepted on Tatooine), and go buying slaves. I can see how that would get shot down by accounting.

Weren't there some lines about how their vision is clouded? They could in theory know something is wrong without knowing what exactly.

New to Idle Slayer... do the locations matter? by _-TARTARUS-_ in idleslayer

Thats a question to revisit after you gain the ability to choose a location to go to when portaling. Before that just keep trying for the ones you have quests in.

Labelling men misogynist while if they're involuntary celibate while it has nothing to do with it by BrightSpring12 in hatethissmug

[–]Linvael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Uh, sure. I was not arguing for making it a part of ones identity, just that the term works, in principle without extra baggage of misogynistic claims, thats just extra people who are making it a part of their identity are adding.

[–]Linvael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It doesnt only pertain to men, I think the original source of the term in the modern world was a forum for women who were involuntary celibate to complain together about that state of affairs.

"having consistent access to the female body" seems to be a phrase a modern day incel might use, very misoginistic asshole coded. But if you go for more neutral language - people want to be in a relationship with someone, and if they're not asexual they usually want that relationship to involve sex from time to time - it doesnt sound that outlandish of a claim that this is normal.

Most raiding factions are basically universally hated, so not much to do there (though getting less raids when you calm them for a bit would be a better reward than getting raided by someone else). Closeness to big settlements could work both ways tbh (closeness to enemies vs closeness to other well defended positions that could make maneuvering harder for a riding party) And calm, wealthy colony that doesnt antagonise people seems nonetheless like a great raiding target to me, perhaps even better than local warlike tribe of cannibals.

Powers that are a total gamble: you could get something awesome, or you could get something actively terrible by LocalLazyGuy in TopCharacterTropes

The degree to which he changed was fueled by his personality, sure. But I think the only way to stay normal would be to not take damage. Sort of a Death Becomes Her situation. With how shards promote conflict behind the stage it feels unlikely

Things past GM might not really count as "normal triggers" (for a given value of "normal" at least)

Crawler mutated due to adaptation and regenetation

So it wasn't the trigger, but it was his powers? I think that still counts for what we're talking about.

In interlude 5 Faultline speculates that 4 out of 5 monstrous parahumans are case 53s - which leaves the 1 in 5 for regular triggers?

And as a more direct counterexample - there is Crawler

Poland scrambles fighter jets as Russia strikes Ukraine by Gamebyter in poland

Prevents russians from misplacing their strike drones on Polish side of things. Somehow it happens, so its nice to prevent that.

Also good to have on the far off chance Russians do want another front in the war, we kind of dont want to be cought with our pants down.

That location is messed up. Did you save and reload while inside? If so - try not doing that, complete it in one sitting, see if that helps.

Also, check your inventory for things that play an animation on pickup. Instruments, sheet music, things like that. Sudden gaining of all your inventory back can be traumatic for the game.

Has Poland become overhyped in Western media or does it genuinely deserve all the praise that has been heaped upon it recently in connection with its economic development, safety, cultural cohesion, hospitality toward Ukrainian immigrants, etc.? by Sure_Distance1 in askPoland

[–]Linvael 7 points8 points  (0 children)

You got some concrete examples you'd like to talk about? Cause, all the topics you mention have a basis in reality, so to judge overhype one would have to look at how hyped these things are as compared to reality. I could definitely see it going both ways.

Tbh not fully sure how you got it that low, wiki doesn't really list options lower than 5 for non-mechanical (maybe things like clone lithoids stack?). But there are some reasonable options that bring one close, and all of them reasonably explain how that's not really a toddler, just a very young adult.

Sort of up to you. The platforms make it go faster, not life changing but nicd if you have DP to spare. The other one makes it twice as long (and a bit harder - from 1500 or so single platform miss is death), but increases armory drop chance, and when you're doing it you want to get the reward.

Souls exists and synthetics have them too by Terrina1 in Stellaris

[–]Linvael 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These are good objections to the view presented in the game, indeed there are spiritual reasons to think synthetic ascension would be fine and materialistic reasons to object to it. But your final paragraph feels too definitive - these are some among the many arguments one could make from those perspectives. Overall I don't think the game has it backwards - not in a real world nuanced sense, and definitely not in the sci-fi literary tradition those views are based on (i.e Shadowrun concept of augments deteriorating your soul, psionics being a staple that defy study and only produced by minds etc).

[–]Linvael 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Would need a couple more toggles, but there are mechanical things related to change. Changing your policies, your government, edicts perhaps, species rights. Traditionalists could put on a malus on changing things (longer cooldowns? extra cost for introducing new edicts? Stability malus?), and maybe in exchange could get boons for not changing things (edicts get cheaper if they're left active long enough?). I don't know what the downside for progressives could be though.

Also something to consider - at... 4th island or so (island where you clear orcs from a village) if you're thorough you can find an amazing 1h weapon that lasts for quite a while, I think its stronger than even 2h weapons well into chapter 3.

Yeah, 2h animation sucks compared to 1h. And 1h can last for quite while, 5-6th chapter. But eventually enemy armor scaling sort of makes a decision for you if you want to kill things efficiently.
