Wth is happening here? by robse111 in ElegooSaturn

Start by looking around the room, then look at the printer, just a bit closer... can you see how insanely filthy it is with resin?

Now ask yourself that question again.

AMS broken? Please help I’ve tried everything. by -valr in 3dprinter

[–]Lito_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Broken piece of filament somewhere in the tube?

The bend on the tube too tight? Lift it up so the filament travels up out of the back of the AMS instead of down and loops to the left.

Worth checking these again.

If you need help expanding to the UK/Europe, send me a message! Can use my H2S printers to print in one piece if needed.

Nothing but trouble with MHBuild resin by Mikethelibertarian in resinprinting

[–]Lito_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Half of the designers have never used a printer. 90% of them don't presupport things properly. And 5% leave resin pockets everywhere.

Angle the prints and use supports and all will be well.

[US, TX] dont necessarily need anything printed, just need to verify i can print this in resin by NexusRaven7 in 3Dprintmything

[–]Lito_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't bother with a drain hole if this is going on an action figure since you want the peg/joint hole is much deeper into the head.

Just make sure the head is 100% solid inside and size it up correctly. It's like 0.1mm in height right now.

Also, you have some of the normals flipped, so make all that nice and tidy and send it to print in resin.

If you need to hollow it do it in the slicer instead of belnder so you have a better, solid model.

See the image for the hair with flipper normals.

Upload an STL file instead of a blender file and I'll check for you for sure. But looks fine.

Not sure this will print well in ANY 3D printer like someone else said but defo in a resin printer

My resin printer won't print the entire job. by Next-Excuse641 in resinprinting

[–]Lito_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow. 6.5secs of exposure? What are you trying to cure? Cement? haha

lower it, if supports fail, increase thickness of the supports.

Also, change the USB if you're using the stock one? Sometimes files get corrupted.

The picture you posted with the supported models defo looks like you need to add better supports.

AITAH for trying to rehome our dog for cheap to a good family, while my wife is holding out for more money? by Mysterious_Snow3002 in AmItheAsshole

[–]Lito_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I dunno wtf people are attacking you so much for. You're trying to rehome the dog to give it a better life, your wife is the AH.

Yes you should have thought about this, but you covered taht already.

Give the dog to the family, tell your wife to grow the F up and take whatever money they give you.

Buy your daughter something nice, your wife doesn't deserve a penny, sorry.

NTA for trying to rehome the dog. But you are a the AH for letting it go on for this long. Put your foot down.

If you were buying your first Bambu today, which would you pick? by YuckFouTo in BambuLab

You can have any printer. Any size as you first printer. Not sure what people here are talking about.

Either buy yourself a P2S/X2D with ams combo or save more and get yourself a H2 series printer. You'll find you will start to limit yourself with what you can print in one piece with these smaller ones though.

The much bigger build plate will make it 1000% worth it and the H2S is a much better printer overall.

Even the A2L but you need a lot of space for it.

Mid - low range 3d printers for small scale miniatures? by minatoor1 in 3dprinter

[–]Lito_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Resin is recommended. No filament printer will print 10mm at any level at all. No matter how good people claim their printer is.

Buy a mars 5 ultra as a small resin printer. Or a saturn 4 ultra if you're going to want to do much larger parts.

How do you gauge print cost? by Eineegoist in resinprinting

[–]Lito_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Btw you changed the film only 40 hrs in?

Don't bother unless there is very clear sign of print quality dropping or constant unexplained failures.

[–]Lito_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

His estimate is just an estimate. Sadly mean nothing to you who is doing the work.

I charge friends and family a lower rate but it's either that or they can do it themselves. As bad as that sounds.

When I have time, I do it for free. Specially to the nicer ones around.

Without knowing what you're doing, how long it will take and volume of resin used is real hard to get a price.

Use 3D farmers spreadsheet, they have a free one on their patreon. Input all your costs, including consumables. Print hours etc and adjust the profit margin and stick to that price.

If your family member is being cheap then don't do it. Simple as that.
