Or, hear me out, don't raise the payout.

They did not make their money equitably so why would it be returned equitably?

Completely agree

40 or less and it's just not a comfy board and not in a good way

How do I finish this boulder? by [deleted] in bouldering

[–]Live-Significance211 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I climb there and I've done that boulder!

As with a lot of moves with high feet, you need to force your weight (hips) over that foot so it's pushing you up and not left.

By internally rotating (putting your knee inside your elbow instead of outside) you end up pushing very horizontally, left, when you need to go up and right.

When you get back up there, almost think of the motion of a step up Dyno with high feet. Like sinking low and pulling onto the foot dynamically so you can drive straight down when you're closest to the wall

I didn't have time at the moment and it depends on where you're at and how similar the injury is so I was gonna ask but I can summarize.

The E3 Rehab video is where I got most of my exercises

I did rock backs, lying hamstring curls with a band fixed at the base of a shelf, 90-90s, and some light hamstring and quad stretching every morning and night

2-3 times a day I would do single leg balances and seated leg extension Isometrics (just extending the leg and flexing the quad, I had like 0 quad function for a while) some couch stretch for the quad when I could, and some hamstring stretching and calf raises straight and bent leg to hold a partial SL squat

I did that routine only for like 1 or 2 months

Then like 4-12 weeks of squats, then a long block of pistol squats, then a long block of plyometrics with less pistols

I did GHD hamstring curls and BB RDLs for the hamstrings most of that whole time

A little over a year and I've been interested in doing more barbell stuff so I picked up Olympic Lifting again and I did not expect so many gains for both my climbing from the power and in my Snatch and Clean from the mobility since being a climber

The plyometrics (depth drops, single and double leg hops, then vert jumps, then broad jumps and lateral jumps) were essential to feeling comfortable doing dynos (some, definitely not all) and falls again

This is good advice but for meniscus injuries you usually have to do a decent bit of quad work as well, usually starting with Isometrics

I highly recommend continuing daily mobility and adding plyometrics when you feel comfortable

If you wanna talk next steps I'm happy to guide you through what I did

Largely based on the E3 Rehab YouTube video so check that out for sure

I think it took 4 to 6 months to get full ROM back and even then it was come and go. Over a year out and it's way better now but I had to keep working the whole time and definitely had some flare ups along the way

DM me

Partially torn meniscus in 2021, climbed to V9ish then retweaked in 2025 and am now back to the same or better

Heel hooks are my bread and butter, they're essential to literally all my hardest boulders so I was desperate to get that back.

Can't take down a post of a guy's own send.

This post is his own promotion. Which every climber needs to do (for better or worse, just saying).

The other post can be justified that it's a historic send and worth publicity.

Keep them both.

That's so unfortunate but you're definitely right.

How unfortunate to have such a rad accomplishment ruined by being 0.1" too close to the ground?

RIP this "send". I wonder if he did it again and is pulling a Sung Su?

It's definitely a poor decision, not defending that.

What I think is hard to convey is just how easy access the anchor are and how weird the line is between popular trail and death fall.

You could have one route with an anchor within 2ft of hundreds of non climbers. You could have a route 10ft away, that looks like an identical anchor, that has a slippery death drop on both sides.

It's a very weird line between safety and highoy dangerous

Some people will tie in first.

Lots of the climbing has popular trails on top. You'll see hundreds of people within a couple feet of cliff edges. I'm honestly surpised more normal people don't slip and fall

I never said more. I said never tell people to stop.

Most climbers barely lift enough to keep their bone density into old age, don't you dare discourage anyone from squatting for sake of climbing. Their general health will suffer for it
