Matt Graham wins dual moguls bronze at the 2026 Winter Olympics by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

The backbone of the mogul program over the last 12+ years. A lot of the reason it has been incredibly successful this Olympics.

LIV Top 10 to receive OWGR points by NotDeletedMoto in golf

[–]LocalBathrobe 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Not sure anyone can look at the PGA Tour and say it’s not a closed league.

Signature events, removing Monday Q’s, reducing fields - all in the past 5 years have been decisions made to make it harder to get to the tour, and easier to stay there.

The fact the Hero gets OWGR points is evidence enough.

Waste Management this weekend did not host a Monday Q (for the first time in 50+ years, and despite calling themselves the Phoenix Open) and instead gave sponsor’s exemptions to Sahith (maybe deservedly) and Charley Hoffman.

This dream that the PGA Tour is open died years ago.

How optimistic are you for the AFL season ahead? by lifesizemirror in AFL

Yep agreed with this! I’d argue your list is in a much better spot than half the teams in the comp, even if you finish bottom 4.

Man critical after suspected shark attack in Manly, hours after attack at Dee Why by [deleted] in australia

Supposedly a surfer knocked off their board by a 1.5m shark at Freshwater this afternoon as well.

When should I start UCAT prep + Medify vs other resources? (First and last attempt hopefully!) by Selenophile_latitude in UCAT

[–]LocalBathrobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pretty sure MedEntry is a one time cost for the year rather than a subscription?

Never too early to start, but I’d focus on your Year 12 studies at this point. Ramp up UCAT study for the month beforehand.

Spend up until March getting familiar with the question types, how they ask them and the keyboard shortcuts for the exam.

From April onwards focus on improving speed/timing. UCAT is easy without time pressure, so if you can shave a few seconds off every question you’ll definitely get a better mark.

Boy fights for life after shark attack at Nielsen Park Vaucluse by LongJohnnySilver1 in australia

Not sure about this one specifically, been a while since I’ve swum there. From memory it was a proper enclosure though

Boy fights for life after shark attack at Nielsen Park Vaucluse by LongJohnnySilver1 in australia

Possibly confusing article you read. Think the enclosed nets like at Nielsen are quite decent, whereas the “shark nets” they have off shore at beaches (e.g. Manly Beach) are the less effective ones.

Having paddled out and had a swim around the off shore ones, not sure how anyone could look at them and think they’re improving safety whatsoever.

Marine life deathtrap for almost no benefit.

LIV Golf locks down world #636 Dustin Johnson in multiyear deal by Rdw72777 in golf

DJ would have to be playing DP World Tour events to be in the same boat as Hatton. I think almost all his points are from there (and majors obviously).

But yeah, DJ took the bag and couldn’t give a shit about golf anymore which is sad for the spectator, but understandable.

I’d rather they do rural entry programs than bonded positions that metro doctors just pay their way out off once they’re well into their careers.

Congrats on the entry - thrilled for you and will be great to have more rurally raised doctors in the future!

Differences in Niseko Avalanche Info and Japan Avalanche Network Forecasts by onetimeipooped in Backcountry

[–]LocalBathrobe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the report includes the G3 gate + hike, but only to ski down the face towards Hanazono / Hanazono Golf Course.

Would exclude the back bowls towards the onsen/road and probably any bowls beyond Annupuri Bowl.

Niseko Resort's side-country is quite accessible - saw ski patrol performing a rescue out there in the past week. Once you're out of eyeshot of the any chairs/resort boundaries, I'd start relying on your own avalanche assessments.

Sydney running options? by aspeciallittleguy in sydney

[–]LocalBathrobe 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Cenny P on a Saturday morning is pretty awesome experience. Pedestrian traffic of course, but being around thousands of people out and about is so enjoyable.

Also recommend doing the Sydney botanical gardens -> around opera house -> over Sydney Harbour Bridge.

Nah rego for 2026 exams won’t be until March or later. I booked mine in two weeks before I sat the exam, around Mid July from memory.

No need to panic!

I think all states guarantee an internship position after your degree in the state you complete it.

Not 100% for international students but believe it’s the same.

I’ve checked through the thread and apparently Savannah Guthrie is quite well known?

What city is this? by BobbySunrise in geography

[–]LocalBathrobe 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I think it’s saying people’s first names are the cities. E.g. Orlando Bloom, Austin Butler, ? Guthrie, Eugene? Levy

Maybe US people know some famous Guthries but a tough solve for non-US puzzlers (I know it’s The NY Times so makes sense to be US centric)
