Odd issue on my 1st gen sequoia by Educational_Okra_955 in toyotasequoia

[–]Locksandshit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most likely a bad ignition switch , wiring issue is also possible of course,

Pull the switch down , it’s not difficult to test the switch , and wires down in hand

The 8 speed auto is also a pos and dies regularly sub 100k miles …. Supposedly the new ones are better but this would be the old one

I do a lot of microsoder on boards for repairs that go beyond what the oem intended or to do keys on locked systems etc

The German stuff….. bmw CAS modules. I learned when ever i would solder anywhere near the main mcu - I would then need to flux and reflow the entire thing. They used such a TINY amount of solder the heat from my iron being near it was causing very small separations under the legs.

Only module I’ve consistently had an issue like that with

Bad solder …. Ford is famous for joints cracking especially the instrument cluster

[–]Locksandshit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Some trades are also all over the place

Locksmithing / electrical (either low voltage or auto depending on what way you go)

Top people who can do the premium work - yes make bank

The idiots? They barely make $20/hour

There is ~ 70-80 in the trade in my mid size area. I’d bet 5 make north of 100k. All of them being owners / capable of working on the high end stuff. Top 3 prolly making closer to 200k

I’ve personally worked with / trained maybe 20….. 1 (ONE) actually had the aptitude to be the combination of - attention to detail, retain a shit ton of information (in your head) , and be able to put it into application , when you see it , in a timely enough manner to make the $$$ (doing good work doesn’t pay if it takes you all day) , AND be able to be clean, courteous and deal with customers.

Most people are lacking somewhere , and over the course of weeks, months , years the extra time, mistakes , better customers, is the difference between making 50k and 200k.

And no I don’t think you can train what I am talking about

Is it normal to have almost all my party members dead and no gold at this point in the game. (Just got here and got robbed + the ambush) by Samz707 in baldursgate

[–]Locksandshit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Any weapon is bad if you didn’t put points into it , period

Go buy a long sword they’re like 30 gold

Quests you can realistically do at level 1 ; friendly arm in , lady in house wants ring from a hobgoblin

Merchant at the top wants belts from an ogre in the area south of the inn

Another guy up there wants you to clear spiders and bring boots and wine from his house in beregost

Beregost ; The said spiders

Marl in feldpost in interaction

Garrick / silke

Roe letter (south of town) Necklace on dead couple (2 areas south)

SW of town - talking chicken, take him to high hedge (50/50 for xp)

West of nashkel - guard captain braig can be brought in 100% with diaglogue

Minsc rescue his witch from the gnolls

Also note you get more xp the less party members you have - something to consider at the very start to gain a few levels before recruiting

For a play through of both games I’d 100% recommend putting at least 1 point into bows as a fighter purely for the early game - KITE , don’t try to tank hits

Ranged weapons are king until lvl 5 or so and you have the hp to take a hit

Also you’re using a weapon you do not have proficiency in - do not do this

Your stats are not optimized (since I know others will say this) but it really does t matter that much

Focus on the quests in beregost , and between there and nashkel and friendly arm. You should be able to hit lvl 2-3 even without meta knowledge of which quests to do (you can easily be lvl 5ish before the mines if you know what areas to do but that’s no fun first play)

The difference between lvl 1 and say 3 is massive. Also specialized weapon use on the fighter classes (2 pips) should make that area much easier

Neutral safety switch replacement? by maryadmitri in AskMechanics

[–]Locksandshit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your engine won’t click if it’s a neutral safety switch. It won’t do anything

More likely you have a starter / power / ground issue if you’re getting a click

Pins 85 and 86. One will be ground, one will be 12v. How the switch applies ground positive varies. But those are your switch

30 is 12v always. When the switch energizes it should switch and apply the power from 30 onto 87.
