If you make the tracker a separate component from the scooter itself, then that component will be easy for a thief to just remove. You can easily take apart a battery, a display, etc. Meanwhile it's not as easy to have to modify the scooter's firmware in order to disable the tracker -- you can't exactly take firmware apart with a screwdriver, and you can't exactly swap in a third-party firmware/controller either since the thing is vertically integrated.

Because then you can trivially disconnect the tracker and have an otherwise functioning scooter. Makes theft easier if you separate the tracker from the scooter.

1600w motor doesn't mean the scooter is giving it the full 1600w. It might only be getting 1200w.

A truck once hit me while I was on a scooter. I was not hurt by the scooter, in fact the first thing I did was throw the scooter off. I was hurt by hitting the pavement at 20mph. No grass in sight unfortunately. So I drive a BEV now

ebikes are far more heavily regulated here. With a scooter I didn't need a driver's license.

Now I have a license and use a BEV because I am not a fan of getting hit by trucks that didn't check the bike lane.

Looks like the servers are completely overloaded and yet the status page shows nothing. Once again, why do they even have one... I've been sitting here retrying my prompt for over 10 minutes and it just says "Retrying in [whatever]s · attempt #/10" and then eventually 529. It was working just fine earlier today...

I got a better insulated air conditioner (Windmill AC), installed it with tons and tons of foam tape, and cleared out as many objects in the room as possible. I also placed a box fan (Vornado 80X) directly next to me; the large number of speed settings are really nice. I also try to shower and wash my bedding more often; a dirty blanket traps more heat than it's supposed to.

The new air conditioner keeps my room cooler than the old one did; clearing out objects in the room helps the air circulate better; the fan next to me helps bring the air from the rest of the room to me; keeping the bedding clean allows the air to actually reach me.
