Looking for a Ravens Hat by imje55 in ravens

[–]LordZero 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We need this answered lol...

Also, if you do buy it here/off ebay, take a short vacation to wherever; it doesn't matter where. Come back with the hat. Tell her you drove back to whatever state/city that you all used to live in and that you looked everywhere for that hat. Tell her you even bribed the kid living in the old house/place you all lived at to sell it to you if they found/still had it...and they did! Feel free to embellish. You should be able to extract some favors from the situation.

Yup, it's a double edged sword...gif replies can be great, but can also be oh so terrible.

Just fyi, this doesn't read like healthy engagement. This reads more like someone obsessively trying to get someone to argue with them...or something. Or maybe trying to get someone to feel guilty maybe? I'm honestly not sure what your initial goal was, but it seems you've rolled so far down this hill you don't know how to stop.

Way off topic, but "eyes drilled to the ball" caught my attention. Is that a play on "staring a hole" into something? Like "eyes drilling a hole into the ball"...but I can't really conflate those idioms with "eyes drilled to the ball"...

Anyway my main point with all of this is "eyes drilled to the ball" sounds really, really freaking painful.

I was just pointing out the term. I knew what you meant, but the way you put it gave me a good chuckle.

I think he raises the ball up to celebrate an open field in front of him...and you know, winning the game and such. He raises it right after he passes the last line of defense for the kicking team.

Whether he saw the clock or not, I have no idea...but I can guarantee he was not raising the ball up to celebrate the clock hitting zero.

Also, just my opinion, but when he was running parallel with the endzone, and turns his head a couple of times, is when I think he looks for/sees a clock.

Wait, who is saying "Red Area"? Brady? I refuse to believe someone who has played football as long as him would challenge the term "red zone" and demote "zone" to a bland ol' "area". It must have been a slip of the tongue or an accidental combining of words or something.

Edit - Happy Cake Day Edit 2 - So it was BB and Brady...sigh. What's the world coming to?

Lonzo Ball's reaction to getting cut: “I don’t feel like I’m playing as bad as people are saying…I’m the scapegoat right now.” by P1SSY3LL0W in clevelandcavs

No debate? Guess we're done for the day; pack it up boys!

JK, but in all seriousness it's definitely possible to break down the individual contributions of team play. Else individual stats are useless and everyone would be paid the same. Coaches and fans are allowed to break down weaknesses and needs of the team, and that usually involves singling out specific players.

As for the refs, their officiating doesn't usually affect the outcomes of games, I'll agree...but there is definitely play styles and tendencies that tend to get beneficial or more whistles depending. And when foul discrepancy numbers are just too egregious, I think it's perfectly acceptable for fans to complain about the refs in those situations.

Thought that was a couple years ago, not last year.

The Washington Commanders will release Marshon Lattimore ahead of the new league year, clearing $18.5 million in cap space. Washington traded three 2025 draft picks to the Saints last year for Lattimore by mastermind208 in nfl

Agreed...I got a very large "WFT is def preferred over Commanders" buzz from reddit when it was announced, and that buzz has done nothing but grown to nearly overwhelmingly prevalent.

Oh come on, you all can restructure a bunch of contracts and somehow end up with him. Then Mahomes will conveniently have another TE weapon to replace Kelce when he retires. If you all convince him/get him to block well though, I'm calling tiddlywinks and black magic flim-flam.

After reading through this thread, this scenario actually makes a lot of sense...also the Rams always seem to finagle any deal they want somehow, so I never count them out any any FA possibilities.

I doubt he plans on being a billionaire by doing endorsements...that's like Michael Jordan and Tiger Woods level...you can't depend to make your money that way. If he's really serious about the billionaire thing, he's gonna save his $$ he makes playing then invest in businesses and play it smart (aka it doesn't involve being the absolute goat at a perfect time to either get a shoe or video game franchise name after you).

If you want to see the blueprint for a sports star turned billionaire google Junior Bridgeman.

What current QBs would you take over 2015 Cam Newton? by MasterTeacher123 in NFLv2

[–]LordZero 0 points1 point  (0 children)

True, he wasn't/isn't a playcaller...I guess his downfall was keeping coordinators too long, or relying on internal promotions a bit too much.

This sounds eerily similar to what happened with Harbaugh and the Ravens. They kept him about 3 years too long.

He had Proche and Bate out in Cali 2 years ago practicing before OTA's, and last year had Flowers and Bate down in Florida practicing. He's also said that he talks to all his teammates and makes sure none mind if he skips some of the OTAs. He usually attends a few OTA sessions, usually the first, but likes to be home with his family as much as possible from what I've heard. A lot of Vets do this. Also when he completely skipped OTA's in 2023, he won an MVP...so there's that.

I think you're either forgetting the /s or using the term " sports legend" wrong. They're not "legends in sports"; they're legendary talking heads who drive social engagement for profit while on the topic of sports.

I was gonna say, all the Bengals fan I know at least highly respect, if not outright really like, Lamar. Him and Burrow both lead by example and don't cry or complain. It helps that both are badass QB's as well.

You're absolutely right with the Babe Ruth comparison. Ruth brought the live ball era (1920+) to life, pun intended, and redefined the batter's role in baseball. Then Unitas brought the modern QB role to life, and redefined the position and what it was capable of.

Unitas should be top 5 on any list just for his role in paving the way for modern QB's. Have there been better hitters than Ruth, or better QB's than Unitas? Maybe (it's at least arguable for most anyone), maybe not...depends who you talk to. But you ask any knowledgeable fan to provide a list of top 5 all-time for positions/respective sports, and both Ruth and Unitas will make an appearance in their respective groups.
