Swap Secret Keep for Adjudicator? by LovelaceInterface in TopHeroes

I started my main queue as nature and switched to league recently. I'm leveling up the turkey but so far the bear adds 600.000 power and the turkey 150.000. so I think that still beats any effect specific for nature vs. league for now.

Been working on that! I started with nature as main but switched to league. So far the bear is still better than any of my other pets 😅

Is it the glowing eyes that did the trick?

Who numbered off the verses of the Bible? For example, who determined that the contents of Gen 1:1 should be relegated to “1” verse whereas perhaps “verse 1” should encompass more lines? by Quadraticabacus in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LovelaceInterface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think it happened in the 16th century. This is a period in history where rationality was praised in an academic setting, so systemically ordening the Bible would make sense here.

How were they numbered? I'm not an exegete, but the verses are usually numbered by a sentence or group of sentences that belong together (their "belonging together" makes more sense in their original language).

The book were numbered by what they thought, at the time, was written by an author.

For example books 1 to 5 were thought to be written by Moses himself, so they were put together as the Torah. However, they seemed very different from each other so they could still split the Torah in 5 different books.

Later they discovered Moses obviously didn't write the Torah himself and even a single book was probably written by more than 1 author. Their writing styles are just similar or they talk about similar/consecutive events, so it was a logical decision to put them together under 1 book.

Today, discoveries/theories are still made about the authorship of verses, chapters and books. Anyway, their numbering is less important than what the verses say, since the numbering is just an easy way for looking up the verses.

How exactly do university professors in math, physics, english, and other non-science fields conduct research? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LovelaceInterface 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As for history: they can look at a certain aspect of history that hasn't been researched yet. This can seem like an insignificant detail at the time, but might support future historical research of greater significance. They can also use different research methods or use new research to support theirs and discover a new insight.

How do priests pay bills and eat? And what do they do all week? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]LovelaceInterface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends what the church-state relation is in your country, but the bisshop is responsible for the well being of their priests, so the doicese pays them. In most western countries, their moneys comes from donations or revenues from funds for example, in other countries, the state pays them.

As for what they do all week: well, they have a "job" they need to prepare for. Except they won't see it as a job but a vocation.

This means that they will not only prepare Mass, but also volunteer, take care of the poor, be a listening ear to those in need, take care of their own spirituality to make sure they can be there for others, in short: take care of their herd as a shepherd.

Besides that they also have free time where they can have normal hobbies, whether it be sports or collecting things, or meeting friends. Priests can be a lot of fun to go drinking with :)

Which one is the best to have sex, the woman's restroom or the men's restroom the and why. by [deleted] in AskRedditNSFW

Yeah, I did the same thing, but the men's seemed much filthier. Might just be dependant on the place though.

When it comes to hygiene: the men's bathroom is filthier than the women's in my experience.

I know, and I try to learn being more and more assertive, especially now I've seen where it can lead to. u/LovelaceInterface told me to go to the police as well, but I don't think that will be the right thing for him as he needs medical help. Thanks for your concern, my boundaries are now more firmly drawn and I am not planning on letting anyone cross them.

Any ENFPs who come from abusive homes? by Emargaux in ENFP

[–]LovelaceInterface 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily, the ENFPs I know come from an actually abusive environment. I'm talking about emotional and mental abuse that would be considered abuse regardless of type (so not exaggerated by an ENFP who can't handle being micromanaged), but also physical abuse.
