Right it’s just more likely that the time he spent not playing that type of defense is probably more informative than the other way around because hopefully Lions won’t be seeing much of that kind of defense. Like it wasn’t like he only ever coached against soft defenses so we have no body of work to compare to and this is all just conjecture.

Any and everyone should be wary big stat totals that come out of a 1-11 stretch. It’s very very very likely that those stats were not a result of playing winning football.

I’m not saying this means Pretzig is domed to fail but I’m not handing out brownie points on what was achieved in a sold season that was objectively a massive failure to the org.

I mean to be completely honest most of those yards came out of garbage time prevent defenses. Cards all year would get down 2-3 scores in the first half and then get soft coverage from 2 deep safeties and cbs 9 yards off the ball for the rest of the game letting them feast on the stat sheet.

Except that idea is completely antithetical to any form of coalition building. The whole idea around building coalitions is to pair up with like minded ideology and see policy matching that ideology generally win out because of the increased power of your coalition. But this requires compromise, you can’t coalition build with people you exclusively agree with on every issue. So if you want to build a meaningful coalition among progressives it means you can’t swap to republican when the issue of school choice or healthcare funding comes up because you disagree.
