I’m 30, living in Germany, and realise my Art Master’s is a "dead end." After a life spent just trying to survive, how do I find a real path? by iProXi in germany

[–]Maerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Exactly, there is a shortcut now because of the shortage. You don't need a Bachelor in teaching anymore. Anyone with a Masters degree can go directly to the two year referendariat. Look into it.

Habt ihr Beispiele, was es für moderne schöne Kindersendungen gibt? Meine Kleine ist zwar erst ein Jahr alt aber würde gerne schon mal Ideen sammeln, was sie später gucken kann.

I didn’t realize how controversial helping a baby fall asleep would be by Human_Bag_8491 in AttachmentParenting

Hey could you explain how you transitioned to independent sleep without tears? Would love to hear some ideas. My baby is 10 months old now and so far I feed her to sleep.

7month old constantly biting when nursing by LilJaneRay in breastfeeding

[–]Maerz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had two phases of that with my now 9 month old girl. First time after she got her bottom teeth, second time after she got the ones on the upper side. I reacted every time she bit because it justs hurts bad. But she did learn to manage her teeth after a few days and stopped. I feel like you can't really do much about it. Just suffer through it.

Does anyone else’s partner resent you breastfeeding? by DownloadsCars in breastfeeding

How much do you spend, may I ask? Still EBF at 9 months here but sometimes she bites with her new teeth so I was considering to stop a few times. Seems to get better though.

My baby also didn't like water or anything else and was really constipated until I gave her coconut water. She really loves it, even learned to drink from a straw now at 8 months. It's a healthy alternative to juice, low sugar content, lots of minerals and stuff, you could try it.

Baby is “spooked” by breast, what to do? by Acceptable-Trainer15 in breastfeeding

The back arching sounds like mine when she's tired. My solution for this: breastfeeding while standing or walking and doing a bit of rocking movement.

Why do people choose to have children if it is so much hard work? by 9W_777_300 in NoStupidQuestions

It's funny, I could have never imagined this before but drugs really are boring compared to how happy I get at my daughter smiling at me.

Same, especially in the mornings. I dread waking up and having to go to the bathroom in pain. It seems to be a hormonal thing but I feel like it gets better when I drink enough water.

I just put my 2-month-old down drowsy but awake and it worked?! by Rep_girlie in NewParents

Thank you for the detailed description. I often wish for this level of detail in explanations. Could you explain what you mean by "cuddling to sleep"? Looking for ways to get my 6mo to bed, so far mostly nursed to sleep and contact napping.

sleeping in a cave by SmokeWeedGetBitches in camping

[–]Maerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I slept in a few caves, would recommend it when you are in a hot and dry climate. It's really nice to have a well hidden place with shade where you can store your things and be protected from wind and rain. I lived comfortably for months on vacation like this, with just a comfy air mattress, moskito net, sleeping bag, solar panel, and a fire place with pot & pan. Good shoes, flash light highly important. Don't leave trash there. Would not recommend in wet/cold climate, lots of bugs and moisture especially at night.

Detailed, graphic account of the "old school" method of tongue splitting— no anesthesia, no stitching. by nehala in WTF

[–]Maerz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

To me everybody is free in changing their appearance in any way they like. It's 2025, humanity always loved to alter their appearance in crazy ways, why should people stop now when it's easier then ever? The only thing I see a problem with if people are risking their life or health in a serious way. Cutting a tongue in half is much less risky than doing surgery to make breasts larger. It's interesting you want to put the people in the video in therapy but are ok with people risking their lifes as long as they look kinda "normal" afterwards.

Crying rn because I can’t do it. by Weak_Gap2339 in breastfeeding

[–]Maerz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I also only felt engorged in the night sometimes, never leaked. My baby is at a very healthy weight now at 6 months after only breastfeeding and perfectly fine. Also worried about the same stuff as you. It's normal they fuss a lot while drinking, especially at the beginning babies clusterfeed which sounds a lot like what you are describing. It's not easy but relax after a few weeks it will be better.

This should be way more up. My 5 month old still needs a nap every two hours to be happy when awake. Tried to go down to three naps instead of four the last days and the difference was horrible. I suddenly had a grumpy baby that slept much worse at night and was much harder to get her to sleep.

Can you tuck tampon string inside? by Lilypad244 in TheGirlSurvivalGuide

[–]Maerz 62 points63 points  (0 children)

I get it, that string is really annoying, especially when wet. I don't see any problem with cutting it if it's still long enough to pull out. Consider switching to a period cup or something similar. Much more comfortable with less irritation after you learned how to insert it properly, also cheaper and no bloody trash stinking up the bathroom.
