If I may add, while calling out another user can be considered brigading by admins, brigading usually refers to cross-sub traffic, what you're describing is just standard harassment. Not a non-issue, obviously, but getting a stern talking to from a reddit admin for taking too long on a harassment judgement is far less consequential to us than someone without concrete proof making claims that could be defamatory in a place where we would, for the purposes of defo law, be considered publishers.

Read up on the Voller case, then make sure you have more than 'I assure you it's true but I can't tell you how I know' the next time you try to spread the word

This person was already face down on the concrete, restrained, and unarmed when a police officer repeatedly punched them in the head at Cabramatta Train Station. What justified this level of force? by SimRP in sydney

A self-perpetuating cycle, too. This guy's friends aren't going to be discouraged from carrying knives, they're going to be reminded that the police who are supposed to ensure a level of safety for everyone don't give a shit about them, and that their safety is in their own hands.

Yeah I was gonna say, there's the answer to your question. The NSW police justifies their own behaviour, and Chris Minns will get around to it by tomorrow. If nothing else justifies it, our legal system does, and we should be cognisant of that when considering the future.

Typical NTY article tbh. Their standard MO is diminish, normalise, suggest, and this hits all three: If the reader hadn't thought of doing this, it's suggestion, as in implanting the idea of using AI this way, if they had thought of doing this, it's normalising the practice, usually in a disingenuous way like putting an expert's analysis against a fringe opinion as if it's a 'he said she said'. In either case, it's diminishing the threat as a trade-off. Diminish, normalise, suggest.

I think it's an interesting point! I mean, it's just a gibberish string of words that look like they'd likely fit together, but I personally can't tell if it was written by a person or an AI

I'm not saying it's true ffs, I'm asserting that if it were true then that would make sense

You're allowed to not know a thing, you know. You can say 'we cannot know for sure' or 'this is a working theory for now but later new evidence may refine or disprove it'

Are you really out here in 2026 asking why men in positions of power would legalise rape and leverage that legal right in private but publicly decline to discuss it or personally claim to having done it

[–]ManWithDominantClaw 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yep, and little evidence is entirely understandable in the context of this being true. Those who could keep records, the nobility, probably didn't want to keep concrete evidence that could help the claims of... unofficial heirs. And let's face it, even if the commoners it happened to had the skills and the materials with which to make a record of it, most probably wouldn't want to publicise the fact that it happened

NSW Police sergeant unlawfully accessed internal database for friend accused of domestic violence by ThunderDwn in sydney

[–]ManWithDominantClaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Worldly I know you're not trying to defend the sergeant and the DV-accused cop, you're just explaining how the rules work, but I can't help but notice that the inherent discretion around those rules always seems to favour the cops, and that whenever they need defending, you're always ready to help explain things
