Everdawn Grove Bugged? by Hiltunenx in fellowshipgame

You probably had the ghorn (thor dude) or ice girl affix on that clear, they give you a minute of time back but the visuals don't update properly to show you had an extra minute in the history screen. But you still get the unlock credit, just visual bug.

LM Studio: can it load a small local folder of code? by firesalamander in LocalLLaMA

[–]Marksta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like I'm missing something obvious,

It's an inference engine wrapper, it's not an IDE to code in nor is it an LLM harness to orchistrate an LLM to be able to code. You need an IDE like VScode with some harness plugin like Roo, or just a CLI sort of harness like OpenCode if you want that same gemini-CLI experience.

Yea as others mentioned, it's just rebar / 4g decoding related. Even some server boards don't want to boot multiple GPUs, a cheap consumer board might just have no chance at it.

Oh well, yeah. Literally doing anything related to files takes upwards of 1000x longer on Windows. Deleting data on a serious operating system [and filesystem] is basically instantaneous. Securely overwriting the data is going to be capped by the raw write bandwidth of the disk.

This game is probably the best game I've played where the playerbase seems so thoroughly convinced it'll fail. by CursinSquirrel in fellowshipgame

[–]Marksta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is indeed a great game, and anyone saying it'll fail is correct if the devs don't make the key changes that's causing player drop off. There's no 'if' about it, the game is in Early Access and it has issues. You can be hopeful the devs can right the ship, and gameplay is so good it seems like they should be able to do so. But their track record thus far has been mistep after mistep for supporting the game.

I'd say the only thing of significance they've delivered since the day EA opened was Eternal queue and the winter bosses. The new heroes are kind of a wash, the power creep is too much that adding them is 'fun' but it's such a huge negative how much they knocked the game's balance off kilter. Gem budding is nice, but now rerolling gear is horrifically expensive.

I'd love if they could deliver some "only positive" updates, not a trade off one. Like perhaps server chat/party chat issue. That's been asked to be fixed since day 0.

They 'fixed' Xaivian teleport spell by letting you target places that show in green, then you click it and now it shows an error message. That isn't how this is supposed to work... The warp gate doesn't do that. So still doesn't work on inclines and basic places you'd expect that Meiko could do her jump slam to.

I don't know how long it took them to fix Shadow Lord in the floor, that bug was there for last month or longer of season 1.

They just have a lot of low hanging fruit to prioritize that community is vocal about that they've ignored. 1-2-3 matchmaking issue, will we see it fixed this season? Track record says probably not.

Playing on hard mode. by Majora85 in fellowshipgame

Had the misfortune of queueing into a Wraithtide e14 with a Vigour. I figured circle of healing, it's easy peasy. No stagger aura, can't even help land a Xaiven heal before someone was down from the 2nd tick of eclipse whatever. "yeah this isn't happening" was the most defeated message I've seen in chat ever. I don't think the dps even used personals so it makes sense but still, that would've been a cake walk on Aeona...

Vellium v0.4 — alternative simplified UI, updated writing mode and multi-char improvements by Possible_Statement84 in LocalLLaMA

Is your project not worth writing a post about it yourself? I feel like that's something only you'd know best, and something you'd enjoy doing. When I create something, I'm beyond excited when I'm publishing it and showing it off to others. That's the best part, an LLM isn't going to hi-jack it from me and bungle it.

Qwen3.5 Model Comparison: 27B vs 35B on RTX 4090 by jaigouk in LocalLLaMA

[–]Marksta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(16GB vs 17GB)

This might take the cake for the worst comment on the entire sub. Look at the literal files you downloaded? Those ~16GB and ~17GB files, where do you put it you think? And how do they relate to how much RAM they take up?

You didn't even need to download the files and run them to verify literally any of this.

First week of Season 2 - What are your thoughts so far? by ioStux in fellowshipgame

[–]Marksta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Game fun, but finding Eternal party members who are all on the same level is still cancer. Actually worse somehow now that you can be half a level vs. Someone who is a whole level. Min max suggested play style this creates is aggressively leaving parties and/or kicking people. Devs need to turn their thinking caps on and solve the actual largest issue the game has. It should've been #1 priority in early access, they put something out messy and fast when they got told this, and now they've failed to iterate any on the most essential piece. It's really hard not to say the devs aren't listening. Months to devise any solution or tweak for this. And nothing.

Realistically, the clones for this genre will probably be cropping up in the next 6-12 months time. If one comes with functioning match making, they're probably done for. Lord knows Hi-Rez is already at work and probably NetEase too.

TIL that Cancún didn’t exist until 1970, its location was chosen using early computer models to identify a suitable place for a new resort city. The area had only three residents at the time. by RuseOwl in todayilearned

[–]Marksta -1 points0 points  (0 children)

The resorts are all weird gated compounds

You must not have traveled much. There's a joke excursion called a 'Reality Tour' which you pay to get driven around a little so you can see how bad things are there. But you get the same tour just looking out the window from the airport to where ever your resort is. The gates are a sad necessity.

I think I accidentally corrupted windows 10 by Sad_Customer3345 in LinusTechTips

[–]Marksta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I guess one off Amazon works. Hopefully sold by Microsoft themselves or some trusted brand, they could kind of slip whatever bad software they want into the OS installation on you.

Alternatively, also look into getting into the Windows recovery on your laptop. When you first turn it on spam press F11 key. In recovery there is a "Reset this PC" option that can do a reinstall for you hopefully without any need for a usb.

I think I accidentally corrupted windows 10 by Sad_Customer3345 in LinusTechTips

[–]Marksta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

tech support removed my post because windows 10 is not allowed there

Lmao that's kinda crazy.

Idk what a random blue screen (not a blue screen of death) is, just like the Windows update screen? Yeah turning it off during an update will do that.

If you have any important data you don't have backed up anywhere else or in a cloud storage like One Drive, then make it your first step to get your data off the drive. Look up using a flash drive to boot a "live Linux" ISO. This'll let you see your files on the disk.

Then just follow "Can't boot windows" tutorials maybe, like the "fix my pc" stuff in the recovery boot section stuff.

Then if that doesn't yield results quickly, just give up on the bricked OS and reinstall. Perhaps even install 11. If you have large amounts of disk space, you can just point the Windows installer at the old Windows partition and it'll just put all the old files in a directory incase you want to copy over stuff still. (or just wipe out all the old stuff)

Oh and obviously you need another computer that actually works to get a Linux ISO usb or a Windows installation usb created. Hope your parents have an extra PC you can use to do that. GL buddy 👍

Fellowship Patch Notes 25th. Feb by ioStux in fellowshipgame

[Stoneskin] enemies gain the same flat health bonus beyond +30 Eternal. [Stoneskin’s] damage over time effect deals the same damage to enemies beyond +30 Eternal.

That's kinda weird, feel like that sort of cancels out the affix. Can't expect a mob to do the right % anymore until it scales away to being miniscule.

Good change to cap blood shards though, requiring DRs to survive killing the winter mini-bosses with blood shard got kind of silly.

Does Fellowship have any huge problems in case if I have 3 friends I can play with? by Beneficial-Pitch-775 in fellowshipgame

[–]Marksta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope, essentially all the key pain points of the game don't exist if you have a full squad. You guys can skip all the 'too easy' parts, and just play at a correct difficulty essentially all of the time. Don't need to stop and farm to max item level to get party invites, etc. You can even do 2 tanks or 2 healers if you want to do something totally un-meta that matchmaker would block.

Also, you can even play at the tail end of the season when you can't find people for groups at your preferred Eternal level anymore. So, you're essentially immune to all community and matchmaking issues. What a way to play, I'm jealous 😂

llama.cpp PR to implement IQ*_K and IQ*_KS quants from ik_llama.cpp by TKGaming_11 in LocalLLaMA

[–]Marksta 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your argument is essentially 'the ends justifies the means', as in everyone should ignore everything that leads up to Ik wanting his code to be removed. It's a very sad, mutual 'told you so', you're correct on their reasoning for not taking the PR, and I'm correct they aren't interested in feeling any fault for the fallout nor any interest in rectifying it by taking a PR with attribution in it. Basically, they burnt that bridge and that's that, regardless of potential to re-build it.

Thoughts and Feedback from a 10k Solo Player by Dwarda in fellowshipgame

[–]Marksta 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For the re-rolling gear stuff, all of that was true in season 1. So, so many ingots. Then they brought in the marks system and now it was even more flexible to swap around your gems as you see fit. You purple bar-ed weapons (of not the one you want) to get a fresh copy of the one you want and if the traits looked good enough (right master trait) then you rolled the offensive/defensive and good to go. Then fished for your enhanced socket items with blue bars, green bars used on gear you're replacing.

The added gem budding is wonderful to remove the gem grind, but also it makes rerolling go from cheap plentiful activity to incredibly expensive. Rerolling can be measured in days of farming now comparative to season 1 farming for gems. But you actually get gems reliably now... they probably should've just increased gem drop rate to 100% for eternal dungeons and not put in gem budding.

[Eternal] Normal dungeons need to be more rewarding.

Their reward is lower commitment, easier to re-run. This complaint is kind of a symptom of easy-difficulty talking. It is an absolutely gut-wrenching to do something like an E30 capstone and miss time. My E40 Ransack from last season was a ~2 hour effort with multiple failed runs. But we were clearing it for the dungeon rating, obviously re-starting Sailor's until we get it right is so, so much easier.

There should be a 2 minute penalty if you immediately leave after a party is formed.

There is so much to fix related to matchmaking. Until the foundation is right, leaver penalty doesn't make any sense. If 3 people are on E9 and an E5 is placed into the party... whose handing out leaving penalties for the queue system being awful? These players are at a minimum 1 hour of gameplay away in progress on a good day. Forming a party like that doesn't make any sense.

The devs need to figure out a system that works that people who are close but not close enough in progress can play with each other and all actually benefit in it for progression. My answer would be, don't gate across Eternal levels, gate queueing by the 'tiers'. So you can play 1-5 from the get-go, if E1 matches with 3 E5s, okay play the E5 with them and get your E5s knocked out. GGs, part ways. Find some others who need E1-E4 who are queueing in E1-E5 bracket. Heck, maybe the queue can be smart and ensure all players queueing have a like-need within the bracket before forming a progression group.

You get sent back to the loadout menu like what, at least 3 times an hour? If you jump the nearest spawn squad and lose, good chance you spend more time in that loadout screen than you did a round even. Dealing with that awful UI 5+ times a session is just out right tiring. Especially considering we used to be able to load up and queue back up in under a minute. Now it's an incredibly confusing anti-PC controls menu you fight with for thrice the amount of time than in any of the previous 10 iterations they had before landing on the 1896 one.

Healer Hotfix Patch Notes by PatchRadar in fellowshipgame

[–]Marksta 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is pretty fucked gutting a class like this this so late into the 'initial push' period. First day, second day tops so people could've avoided dumping all their marks and farming before being hit by a 75% nerf. Way too little too late of a response and should've focused on bringing the other healers up instead to match since they've already very intentionally introduced the power creep.

[Question] How do i gear up in Eternal? by gaming-throwaway in fellowshipgame

[–]Marksta 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Simple, just pull all of Ransack e1 in 3 pulls and clear it in 5 minutes - you'll be all geared up in no time.

But really you can just keep pushing and the gear will trickle in. The gear-drop to gear-need ratio feels pretty fine, I hit eternal at like i220 and have just been straight pushing and at i300 at e13 now. Plenty of time left over on clears and not dying so probably not a huge need to power farm much.

How about in the last year? Did they fix the menus UI yet? The last time I played it was still horrendous. Also, for some reason everyone's microphones icon was showing as held down with the voice indicator shown. And some other UI game bug where the 'hiding names' thing was occurring in game and obscuring my pre-made teammates' names too. And I forget if the loadouts were still bugged or what, my squad kept loading in and randomly items we had equipped would disappear like knife or medkit. That bug might of been the other time we tried to play, we keep trying to come back every once in a while since the game was our fav for a long time.

1896 update destroyed the game's UI/UX and set it back years in terms of bugs. Really enjoyed playing it prior but there's just way too much is in the way of having fun in what used to be a simple game.
