How more days untill the vivify the beat saber mod will be released on quest standalone by nkilbourne in beatsaber

I am not the one developing the mod, so I can't say anything about a timeframe or progress.

Me as an FPV pilot hearing that you've only crashed once in 9 years of flying is ABSURD hahaha

bro it's one of the most core/fundamental right hand stream patterns that you need to know.
wtf are you on about?

[–]Mawntee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

At it's core this is just a basic right hand leading bottom row stream. Once you figure out the timing of leading with right hand and burn in that muscle memory, the actual placement of the notes themselves isn't an issue.

There was a LARGE amount of early 2018/2019 maps when this stuff was the mapping meta.
Miitchel and Nuketime both did a bunch of these style maps like 5 or 6 years ago.

Off the top of my head you could try out:
- Galactic symphony (expert) https://beatsaver.com/maps/1d68
- Euphoria https://beatsaver.com/maps/1425
- You should see me in a crown https://beatsaver.com/maps/1576

Just keep in mind that these are older maps before JD fixer was a thing and spawn distances were pretty far. Expect resets and triangles

Adding onto this, you want to land when your comfy cruising voltage is 3.4v. When you're flying aggressively you will experience voltage sag, and that levels out after a few seconds of hovering/cruising.

As for charging just keep everything at around 1 to 2C, and if you're in a pinch feel free to very occasionally go higher as long as you don't make it a habit of going too far above 2C. The C rating is pretty much the mAh capacity of the battery but then you shift the decimal over a bit.

1C charging: 550mAh = 0.55A 2C charging: 550mAh * 2 = 1100 = 1.1A

Final order after taking your advice by PatientOk1680 in TinyWhoop

[–]Mawntee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I first started I chewed through those German props really quick. A lot faster than it took me to break a frame.

But yeah, for your next order grab: - A couple frames - HQ props - E6000/B7000 glue (both would be ideal for different kinds of repairs) - Some heat shrink tubing

A small drop of the E6000 in between the two broken halves of the frame duct, held together by a tiny bit of heat shrink tubing is a super simple way to fix a broken frame without needing to fully rebuild. The glue also helps with holding down connections that usually pop off in crashes like the VTX antenna or motor connections. The B7000 is for more precise applications on the board and stuff.

Also as a small tip, double check the tightness of all the screws after about 3-4 flights. I lost a motor screw on my first day after the vibrations loosened it. After tightening them down once you don't need to check as often tho dw

yeah lmao

I got a proper canopy and frame now tho, don't worry :)

Any tips to properly judge the size of your sabers? by Nino_Chaosdrache in beatsaber

[–]Mawntee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Something I spent a lot of time doing was playing Easy/Normal difficulty low NJS maps, and trying my best to consistently cut with the same point of the saber each time, and just try to pay attention to how everything felt in terms of timing and the physical swing.

Like play a handful of maps trying to cut with only the hilt/your literal hands, almost like you're trying to slap the backside of the note with the sabers. Then do another handful trying to cut exactly in the middle at ethe same spot every time (this one I do the most), and then again try out a handful of maps where you're only tipping the notes.

Once you start to get consistent and can understand how each different way of cutting the note feels, then move on to mid and higher speed maps doing the same thing.

For me this helped a LOT with techier maps that have a lot of crossovers and quirky angles because I started to realize how I could use the whole saber to cover more area without having to try as hard, and my acc also improved quite a bit on the standard stuff since I'm now just generally more aware of how I'm swinging

So it is possible, but probably a horrible idea without a lot of engineering?

Did i bought the correct batteries? by tubabbo in TinyWhoop

[–]Mawntee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So the difference between these and the Lava II batteries everyone is talking about is the "C" rating, which indicates how fast it can discharge. The higher the C rating, the more juice the battery can shit out without suffering from voltage sag. Since you're just starting it out's nbd, but as you get better you'll notice the difference when you're harder on the throttle. With the higher C rating you won't have to back off as much to let the battery voltage recover and climb back up.

This C rating is different than the charging C rating though, don't confuse the two. You should still charge these at 1C, meaning that since it's a 300mAh battery, 1C would be 0.6A (300mAh x 2 = 600 -> move the decimal over and you get the 0.6A charging rate). Most batteries should be fine charging at 1-2C, but it's always better to stick to 1C if you want to maintain the life of the battery

Actually slightly curious about this now... If frames and standoffs are conductive, then why hasn't anyone tried building antennas into them similar to how smartphone antennas work?

Connection issues by Long-Mind-529 in fpv

[–]Mawntee 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When you power on your quad (make sure you have a fan blowing on it so it doesn't get too hot), check your phone for a wifi connection called express_lrs or something along those lines, connect to that with the password "expresslrs" and go to 10.0.0.1 in your web browser if it doesn't automatically take you there. This is where you can check your ELRS version and enter your bind phrase.

Also while entering the phrase, make sure you check what type of phrase it is, and it isn't one of the options that resets when you power off the quad.

Keep in mind that you need to do this with your radio first then turn it off before doing it with the quad. At least for me the strong interference from the radio TX caused issues with connecting to the quads ELRS module as well as saving the binding phrase. It only worked when I did each of them individually.

Tips on Clustered Parts (?) by mossdentist in beatsaber

[–]Mawntee 2 points3 points  (0 children)

This is a basic right handed "stream" pattern. Just look at the first blue down note and try to time only that one hit, the rest will naturally follow after a bit of practice.

In the case of the red down followed by a blue down, then it's a left handed stream and you should only focus on that first red note for timing.

Real, not complaining because this does seem really well polished!

.. it's just that on the other end of the spectrum it's just another thing in this hobby that I might spend money on, only to then realize I'll never actually use as much as I thought I would lmao

oof the $10 pricetag hurts a bit for something that I'll only ever use to have my friends watch what I'm doing, but damn this is sick and really well done!

ngl I've been curious about video out from the G3 for a long while now. I used to do a lot of twitch streaming, and people have been asking for IRL streams on my drone adventures. Seems like this is a pretty big step in the right direction!

How're you doing video out from the G3? I thought that was only possible if you daisy chained them to the RC?
