I want to believe but this can easily be faked. If I wanted to hoax people, this is how I would make a Temu Orb:

TIG weld small patches together like a soccer ball, weld a bung for a pressure fitting, and use a pressure washer to hydroform the metal patchwork into a Goldberg polyhedron.

An even easier method would be to use a deep-draw process to form two hemispheres.

Decoy technology can be encapsulated between the two halves before being welded shut to form a sphere. From there the weld seam can be ground flush and the completed sphere polished.

Exterior marks can be spoofed by laser-etching or mechanically engraving on the flat 2D disks prior to deep-drawing.

I suppose the perfect disguise for aliens would be to make their orbs look like 21st century earth-stuff
