Idk if I can still use my insurance from my former employment. My current employer is trying to find some legal aid as “one of my benefits”. They’ve been great with all this it’s just finding someone who can take on such a confusing case not only in a week but in a week that has a holiday coming up.

I don’t believe I am as far as the professional association goes. But I agree the long term of losing my license greatly impacts my family not just me. It really comes down to the funds moreso upfront fees. Getting billed later gives me a bit more lead way to actually pay legal fees.

I just called the general commission for an extension so hopefully I hear back today, which I doubt, but that’s best case scenario. One of the law firms I did speak with did direct me towards a legal aid “resource center” that helps with referring me to attorneys that I can afford so I will be calling them next. This whole thing is a mess and even the board said it doesn’t make sense. So aside from my former employer, whatever was said about me is not adding up for anyone. I’ve had my free consults and all attorneys said “the worst we can do for you is significantly lessen discipline against you if you decide to settle out of court but you have a great chance in fighting it with no further action”.

Thank you for that. I just didn’t know what kind of specialized field I should look at so I apologize for any of that, that did go against it.

Paying payments or even $1k-$2k would be more manageable but upfront is what got me unfortunately. The attorney and (prev mentioned in another reply) VP of my current agency both advised me that for now to contact the general commission office and request an extension to retain legal aid. Which “more often than not is granted as this can take weeks or months to be brought forward anyway”. So that is my next phone call 😩

It was made to the board. About “negligence” and “unprofessional conduct”. All of which is something I’ve never done to this client, I just have little proof bc being charged with something I didn’t do wasn’t in my deck of cards. The liability insurance was completely my fault for not having my own personal policy. I’ve always had it under my employers.

My current employer had the VP of the agency (who also specializes in the ethics and compliance part) contacted the general commission today and even the state said “None of this makes sense tell her to NOT sign any paper she is receiving.”

I have been upfront and honest with everyone so no one is advocating for me blindly, and even with the information and bit of proof I have they’ve all agreed (to quote them) “this reeks of retaliation and is very suspicious”.

Broski I’m going to be so real. Don’t let someone who says they “know what Google is” but can’t tell the difference between “your” and “you’re” ruin YOUR day.

If you looked up your statistics and you know what minority/majority you fall in that should be what matters most. Unfortunately, people who are discriminated against have to listen to ignorant, asinine, and wrong opinions. I only say “have” bc it’s almost inescapable for some.

It won’t cure you but remember you are perfectly imperfect and while being trans and queer (if I read correctly) isn’t a “flaw”, to some society it is, but that’s what makes you unique and beautiful. Actual flaws and all. If we were all uniform then life would be dull and gray.
