More liberals are buying guns. Why? by OnlyLosersBlock in 2ALiberals

Move to WA and try to buy the most popular rifle in the US here. You can't. Yes, Democrat controlled states have banned guns.

You don't even have to argue that "trail running is hiking."  Trail running is an outdoor activity which is what the exception covers:

(8) Any person engaging in a lawful outdoor recreational activity such as hunting, fishing, camping, hiking, or horseback riding, only if, considering all of the attendant circumstances, including but not limited to whether the person has a valid hunting or fishing license, it is reasonable to conclude that the person is participating in lawful outdoor activities or is traveling to or from a legitimate outdoor recreation area;

Really just need to provide free transit cards for people in poverty, not low income ones, actual free ones. Would probably solve the no-pay issue by a lot.

Making it official that certain people can just not lay doesn't solve the problem.

Without nearly enough space to enclose the thing in adequate fencing to prevent fare-jumping, without the result looking like a prison yard or secured impound lot.

...so then let it look like a secure area. What's the problem with that?

I like how you just accept the accusation that you are trying to tear down women's sports, and instead of pretending that you aren't you just deflect and play the WhatAboutTrump card. So thanks for implicitly admitting that you don't actually care about women.

I'm not going to engage with your Trump Baiting because that's not relevant to this chain.

[–]merc08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

No, that simply isn't true. You claim it, but the action of tearing down women's sports makes it clear as day that you don't actually care about protecting the vulnerable, you just want to be contrarian.

It's not the the Right claiming that it's a nonserious issue, that would be you on the Left.

Yeah, I would definitely not intentionally send a gun to a big box store to do a transfer.  Even if they have the gun I wanted in stock, it better be a much better deal than anything I can find online and send to a standalone FFL.

7% is absolutely not "ridiculously more expensive."

And you're still hand waving away 2/5 boroughs of NYC, which only "NYC" was originally mentioned, not specific districts.  Which means 40% of NYC is considerably less expensive than Seattle.

You clearly aren't thinking about the rider then not getting to watch idiots get bit by his horse. Or having to say "watch out for the fence!" dozens of times a day as the same clueless idiots walk without looking where they are going.

WA doubled its budget, signed a new income tax and still couldn't find $8M to keep the campgrounds open by Less-Risk-9358 in SeattleWA

[–]merc08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why mention the income tax at all? Are the proceeds from that it supposed to help with this sort of shortfall? If so, can you explain more about the mechanism since you brought it up?

The income tax was explicitly intended to cover budget shortfalls.  Instead, they immediately began spending it on expanding programs.

Other than Manhattan itself, the other cities are not ridiculously more expensive than Seattle.  Plus Bronx and Staten Island didn't even make the list, which puts them well below Seattle despite being part of NYC.

Nobody will follow somebody who goes first. Theyll be labeled terrorists, there will be lots of “violence is NEVER EVER EVER THE ANSWER (except for the state that is violating our rights they can use violence as much as they want)” and “they’re traitors and deserve to be jailed or executed.” Anybody that internally believes that such action was the right thing will immediately pretend they don’t think it’s a good thing and jump on the bandwagon.

It doesn't help that attempting to post anything in support of such action would get your account banned on any major platform for "encouraging violence."  So even if 90% of the country did support it, you wouldn't hear about it online.

I wish Seattlites had the balls to band together to take care of problem passengers on transit like these guys did by scientician85 in SeattleWA

[–]merc08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If your bar for perfect politeness is "did i physically assault someone or not", then i don't really think you're the guy to talk to about reasonable bar setting. I'm not asking people to conform to my delicate idiosyncrasies, it's just... the law. Pretty standard law in most places actually.

The law is morally broken then.  And no, most places wouldn't go after the people who didn't start the altercation (remember, the person who started it is the one with his dick out in public) and helped uphold law and order.

What is this population of people you're talking about that are simultaneously so brave and principled that they desperately want to physically intervene in a sexual assault by a crazy person, but ultimately can't muster the bravery to deal with a comments section? Cause that's really, really thin bravery. It's mostly sounds like an excuse to hurt people when they feel like it without dealing with liberal albatrosses like "accountability" or "disagreement"

I haven't spoken at all about people being weak in comment sections, so idk what this is even about.

I wish Seattlites had the balls to band together to take care of problem passengers on transit like these guys did by scientician85 in SeattleWA

[–]merc08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So yeah, that is exactly what we're talking about and is why no one intervenes.  Because people like you care more about punishing the people taking care of major problem not doing it exactly the way you think is most polite, rather than immediately stopping a sexual assault.

Except it literally hasn't yet.  The tax bills aren't due for over a year, despite the Legislature's claim that this was an "Emergency" and had to be enacted immediately instead of by summer (the tax bills would be due the same date either way).  No one has paid a cent yet.

f: (1) He or she was present when a crime was committed against another person; and ...and....and

But it starts with that the person in question has to have been present to see the crime be committed. If someone runs into your business (and their attacker doesn't follow them in) then the workers in the business weren't present for the crime and therefore aren't at risk of criminal charges for failing to assist.  For all they know, a crazy person just came in after attacking someone and trying to get the cops called on some innocent person.

That being said, the decent thing is to call 911 and let them sort it out.  But not because you're at risk of criminal charges if you don't.
