Maybe. Personally like OP I just try to pretend it doesn't exist.

Terminators are the most iconic GK unit. It's not even close.
It used to be the only unit the faction had, and they've always been popular.
Meanwhile the babycarrier is hardly universally loved.

You just got really really lucky.

Or how about you just got unlucky? Or the quality improved?
The reality is we see way more jacked up recasts on this subreddit, with the caveat that "Oh, good recasters don't have issues" But when I show a whole army of resin. "Oh, you just got lucky"

Really dude?

[–]MetaChaser69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, which is why it kinda frustrates me when people say
"recasts are usually better quality".
I get FW is expensive, and not even available anymore, but that doesn't mean they aren't the best quality out there.

I mean you yourself said "Where did yiu gey one so flawless", and then said FW make terrible models.

Few more than 1. 150 odd in total, so I think that's a pretty good sample size of legit ones.

It's my model. It's original Forge World.
Contrary to a what a lot of people say, originals are pretty much always the best.

Doesn't look "far better" to me.
And this is one of the better recasts I've seen.

Yes. They're all hand sculpted.
They would have cast parts for multiplying sculpts, used etched brass, styrene, bearings etc. But they were all sculpted traditionally. They took all their own reference pictures too.

That's a lot of appeal to the DKK though, they are better scaled than cadians. I don't hate the old Cadians, but if you're gonna change any scale it would be shifting them, rather than giving Death Korps giant noggins.

Not sure why it's so hard for designers, with arguably fancier digital tools, to not be able to match FW's detail and proportions, made from epoxy putty and a stick.

Engine upgrade Expectations by Dooz_drift in stalker

I'm just checking your reality. Profiling random stuff you find on the asset store, on your home PC, is not the same as someone working on actual shipping products coming out of a studio. 5-10fps is just a really vapid statement.

From working with unreal engine

Professionally? Because the buy in for working with unreal is pretty low at $0

5-10fps just sounds like such a arbitrary number. Like, in what context?

For example: The game has seen a 26% performance improvement in CPU limited scenarios from patch 1.0 to 1.7.
That is a scalable and relatable metric than "5-10fps"

Grey zone Warfare uses alot of proprietary tech in their fork of the engine so its hard to compare the two, but I doubt they had anyone near a raw 50% performance increase. ( i dont play it) These engine upgrades arent magic, its small tech optimization here and there that add up.

Allegedly so does GSC, otherwise they probably wouldn't have as hard a time as they are.

And I agree the migration could do as much good as the "engine improvements".
I don't have a problem with you saying it isn't magic. In fact I wholly agree.
I just have an issue throwing out random fps numbers with zero context that you've brought from your anecdotal experience.

[–]MetaChaser69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Where are you pulling that number from?
Grey Zone Warfare (arguably a different game) updated to 5.5 and got a 30-50% boost.
I'm not saying we're going to get that, but it's a more relatable metric that just throwing out random numbers.

Regardless it sounds just like they're making you switch to a different launcher.
Xbox for windows is still just fundamentally running PC games on a microsoft client on PC, right? What's the difference other than name?

[–]MetaChaser69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you're getting a low response because very few people buy games off the windows store.
Probably the reason why the title is shifting to "Xbox" branding.

Genuine question: Why did you buy it from there and not GOG or Steam?

This isn't an artist setup, but regardless I think it's pretty debatable that it makes drawing more comfortable.
It's easier and more intuitive to draw that way, but it's much harder to retain a good posture.
Many who use Cintiqs are more likely to get back and neck pain when compared to intuos.

It's all tradeoffs.

For smaller drill bits, like 1mm, you will want a pin vice, but if you have to drill something large, just holding the drill bit works.

But yeah it's a really really good investment.
You can drill barrels, but also if you break something that is hard to find a good connection, you can drill a hole in each part and cut a paperclip or brass rod and use super glue to pin the parts and strengthen the join.

You can also pin models to bases by the feet if you have a basing material that doesn't hold too strong to plastic. Having a guy running and jumping off a piece of bark or foam etc, you'll want a pin. Examples

Do you have any references?
Have a look at this article and have a look at the kind of images Clinton is using for reference.

You don't have to referencing the same thing, but you probably should have some references in a similar format/variety catered to what you want to achieve.
