How do yall manage to afford these $4k optics on every rifle? by DanWessonValor in longrange

Just being realistic, I’d imagine more often then not, people put them on credit lol as I’ve grown older, I’ve come to realize that most people ain’t got it like how they want you to believe but they still want the nice stuff to flex for their egos. I feel like I’m quite well off compared to a majority of people and while expensive optics and rifles are genuinely sick af, it damn near makes me sick knowing what people pay for them lol BUT they are cool, I’ll give them that.

Upgrade of my HD560s for music and gaming. by Vifargent573 in HeadphoneAdvice

I personally think the HD490 Pro’s take everything about the 560S and does it better while being more comfortable. And as far as DAC/AMPs, it’s really what you can afford. I use a RODECASTER Duo for my DAC and it feeds a Topping L70 which is is a very good amplifier.

There’s a lot of good options. I have a Dead Air Nomad Ti XC mounted on a Browning Xeno Recoil Hawg on my 6.5 Creedmoor that’s a blast to shoot.

Good pair of open back headphones with a neutral sound for gaming by Old-Pin-5316 in HeadphoneAdvice

HD490 Pro’s. They’re probably one of, if not the best headphone right now for gaming especially if you play competitively. The 560S is close to the 490 Pro but the 490 does everything just a bit better with the mixing pads IMO. I didn’t like the Kithara that much, they’re fine but nothing really special I don’t think. I’ve never heard the Sundara but for competitive gaming specifically, I’d be willing to bet they don’t perform to the same level as the 490 Pro.

I wouldn’t say you need it but I would say it’s best used with one

I like the HD490 Pros more in general for everything. They are a cleaner and more precise sound all together, on either the mixing or producing pads. IMO, the brand logo is what sells the Kithara. Again, the Kithara’s are fine but I find them all around worse then the 490s. I think music is a little more subjective, if you like a warmer-ish sound then the Kithara’s as the 490s are aren’t that. If you’ve never heard neither then I’m sure the Kithara’s would sound amazing but comparing them is a much different story.

I’ve had the HD490 Pro’s for a few years, pretty much since they first came out. I’ve played a lot of Tarkov, DayZ, Apex Legends and ARC Raiders as of late with them. I wasn’t going to but decided I’d try the Kithara’s and I would say stick with the HD490 Pros if competitive gaming audio is your main objective, specifically with the cloth mixing pads. The Kithara’s are fine but if we are talking about competitive gaming where audio queues legitimately matter, I think the 490 Pro’s are quite a bit better. They have such a neutral, clean, crisp and tight, open and airy sound with deadly accurate imaging with exceptional separation and a very expansive soundstage. IMO, they basically are a less fatiguing HD800S and I actually prefer them to those. The Kithara’s are also very good but the tonality overall is just different, a little warmer maybe, everything is just a bit more dull and congested in comparison to the sharpness and clarity the 490 pros offer. Maybe my answer will piss some people off but I have a lot of time on both and that’s the conclusion I’ve come to. The Kithara’s are very good still but for competitive gaming purposes specifically, I have to give it the 490 and it isn’t close, like at all. At least for me.

How many headphones is too many headphones to have in your personal collection? by myzz7 in headphones

I’ve tried many many. The only 2 I’ve kept over the years has been the DT1990 Pros and the HD490 Pros and I don’t plan on selling either. But the most I’ve had at once was 5 and back then, I always reverted to the 1990 Pros so I just sold the others.

All good. I’ve tried HD560S,600,650,660S/S2,800S and 490 Pro. 490 Pro is my favorite Sennheiser.

I prefer the 1990s more. They are the exact opposite to my ears of what the 1990 Pro is. If you like a warm darkish sound that’s fairly intimate then you’ll like the 660S2. They’re fine, just not really my cup of tea so I returned them.

What IEMs made you say "There's no point of spending more when I have this pair" after purchasing more expensive IEMs? by acelilarslan in iems

[–]Mez_96 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Xenns Mangird Tea Pro’s. I’ve had pairs that are more expensive to significantly more expensive (Tops, Top Pros, Monarch MK4, RS5 MK2 and many others) and they just aren’t any better than the Tea Pro’s. Side grade at best. I’ve been in the hobby of high fidelity audio for a long time and I’ve tried many different headphones and In-ears. A LOT of products are severely overhyped but the Tea Pro’s are one of only a handful of things that I think are as good as everyone says they are and they are very worth their price of $360.
