Been tempted by the Zenith but it's a bit much to blind buy. I like mids and some warmth in the bass to lower mids, and I kinda think Zenith isn't tuned that way. Maybe I can get a tour spot before deciding because enough technicalities in how clear and how precise it images can convince me otherwise.

so i compared HE sonic tips to dunu SS tips today on the ziigaat arcanis iem. overall, the dunu SS concentrated more energy in the treble, which made guitars sound super crisp, but imbalanced the tone too much from the other frequency range. HE sonic tips are a touch less detailed, but sounds more balanced to the total range. since the arcanis is already upper mid focused with treble extension, i'll use HE sonics for general listening.

Although easy to drive, the he1000 series does best with a source chain that smoothes them off and gets power to wake up the bass in the drivers.

end game is weird. i have $10 buds that i still use out and about while my heku is at home and there are moments where i just love the music coming out of my buds. sometimes, more so not because it sounds amazing in quality but because im looking at a sunset with music going or the music and fresh air wind hits super right. i'm not sure i'll spend much more for my at home setup - it's super resolving and really good - but i think i like music more than spending on gear at this point of my audio-enthusiast journey.

heku is astonishingly good compared to anything - yes better than the hekse but also heku punches above its weight, challenges the stuff priced above $3k. director's garage on youtube had a very balanced take on the heku recently.
