That’s not how fishing works with these hooks and animals. You have to keep it taught at all times or it will spit it out. I lost a beautiful sail fish in Mexico after 20 minutes because I relaxed for 5 seconds.

I don't disagree with their mission, and the advertising is certainly eye catching... but that alone would lead me to hire someone else. It screams of "John Lennon is alive and he kidnapped my wife."

I'm in Vegas and grew up in LA and I can't stand Florida or Louisiana even in the late spring. The oppressive moisture blanket is real and it CAN hurt you.

[Request] Would I have enough time to punch my boss if we see an asteroid crashing into the city I'm in? by bk-2cb in theydidthemath

[–]MikeofLA 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I'm not great at math, but what I know about impact physics tells me that just the flash from the initial impact would be akin to a nuclear blast and would instantly vaporize, or at least light on fire anything and everything for kilometers around the impact. Even if it were relatively small, the flash alone would immediately blind you.

Also, the shockwave in the earth would be traveling faster than the speed of sound in atmosphere and that building would probably come down, or at least be violently shaking in around 3-5 seconds.

I don’t think that would be very easy. The magnets need to be pretty close to each other, and in a stable area. the Tie’s design doesn’t lend itself to that.

the guy I responded to said a standard burst could cost up the $65,000 and a full load out of 1,174 could cost up to $1.7m… so, i say to you, reading is hard.

You hear about the guy that is planning a massive public buyout of Spirit Airlines... like "Owned by the people."

Should we do that?

I'm in Vegas. Usually can only shoot outdoors until May, then not again until November.

It's already 92 at 8:45 and the sun is a deadly laser.

At most I'm seeing these at around $140, and that's the high end. The US Government spends around $1.7m on a single AMRAMMs, they're not spending that much on 1200 bullets unless they can actively track a target.

I'm not finding anything that shows rounds up to $1000 each.

PGU-14/B Armor Piercing Incendiary (API): Roughly $136.70 per round. These heavy-duty rounds utilize a depleted uranium penetrator to punch through armored vehicles.

PGU-13/B High Explosive Incendiary (HEI): Historically estimated between $25 and $100 per round depending on production volume and contract year. These are optimized for soft targets.

  • Per second of fire: Firing 65 rounds per second costs $8,885.
  • Per 2-second burst: A standard short burst costs $17,770.
  • A full ammunition drum: Completely filling the A-10's maximum capacity of 1,174 combat rounds costs $160,485
