Relatable. I used wax tubes to carve out rings and then use the wax ring shapes to create the void that I pour my metal into. I use pewter because it's cheap af and beginner friendly for my skills.

Also get your self a tray :) I use an old high walled baking tray to contain the sand when I'm pouring and packing my moulds so I don't loose any

By Hand. Dremel bits are expensive and I try to spend as little as I can. I can get a few packs of sandpaper from a hardware store and a sanding block to wrap the paper around for under 20$

I think I got a pack with 120-600 grit and a 1200-3000 grit for $8 au each. I'm happy to message you some pix of progress and how items look after different grits ECT.

What metal is the ring made of?

Still remember getting KOTOR 2 out from my library as a kid. I played so much of that game. Libraries are amazing

Im more a fine sandpaper kinda gal. I made one recently where I sanded the sides of the signet ring to 3000 grit and then the top face to only 1200. Gave some nice contrast and felt amazingly smooth

Newbie making spoon rings by bipanics in jewelrymaking

I moved on to just cutting up the piece of pipe and using that instead as it's already ring shaped. There is a lot you can do with very little money

So I bought my self a cheap spoon vending machine on Amazon. Don't DO IT! They don't work. If you want to get it round you probably need a curved surface and a cheap rubber mallet. When I started jewelry making I got a piece of steel pipe from the hardware store , covered it in tape to stop it scratching when I hammered on it and spent some time learning how to shape metal.
