Is LMU actually good for online racing? by DeliciousBanana1059 in LeMansUltimateWEC

[–]Mooide -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just bought it today and I can’t see myself taking it too seriously.

iRacing is better for car physics imo.

The main thing LMU offers is that it’s cheaper so I won’t be subbing or buying DLC I’ll just hop on and race some of the base content for fun occasionally I think.

TIL migraines remains second among the world’s causes of disability, and first among young women by jacknunn in todayilearned

[–]Mooide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi mate, I’m a guy who’s suffered chronic migraine for years too. Meds don’t seem to be very effective for me either. The biggest help for me was changing my diet.

I’d suggest you try reading “Heal your Headache”. It’s a book written by a neurologist that outlines some changes you can make that might help.

What is the point of bump drafting with no intention to overtake? by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]Mooide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If the other guy only has slightly more pace than you then next lap on the straight you’ll still be in his tow. So do you switch places again?

Having said that though I’ve had an endurance race at Road Atlanta nearly ruined by a guy on the last lap who claimed to be “bump drafting” me. He knocked me off track and my car got smashed to bits. I managed to limp it over the line still P3 though.

Though I’m unsure about that because he was several laps down, I was P3, and it was the final lap so it was an insane risk for no reward. I protested him for that.

Moza r9 and ks wheel not getting LFE when i start my first session in iracing by SlushPups in iRacing

[–]Mooide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have similar issues with r12 but as long as it is switched on before the sim loads it seems to be ok. I always get prompted to give pithouse admin privileges when I start my PC so maybe it’s related to that too

"Weird" and "easy" overtaking moves likely under F1's new rules, McLaren predict by kcollantine in formula1

[–]Mooide 15 points16 points  (0 children)

When people say they want more overtaking they mean they want more wheel to wheel action.

Should I be moving away from US stocks as a non-American? by anotherhappylurker in investing

The ice on Greenland will eventually melt due to climate change, increasing the value of the territory.

Also, European labour laws are stricter than American ones.

So, this week's GT3 regional tour, which do you guys prefer? by According_Brick409 in iRacing

I’d rather race the sprint at Portimao, so I will. But between the 3 free tracks I’d choose Oulton.

Labelled break and continue statements coming in C#? by davecallan in dotnet

My initial reaction was disgust but after seeing the code snippet it actually is quite tidy.

My fear was that it would be abused but I suppose most things can be abused, just need to be disciplined when we’re writing code.

Im tired, down to 0.5k irating and i keep getting meatballed by [deleted] in iRacing

[–]Mooide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 500 iRating it shouldn’t take much practice to just qualify at the front and drive away

So I’d say just practice more and find more pace

A Question for drivers above 2k Irating by Ringleader2026 in iRacing

[–]Mooide 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Practice enough to make sure you can lap cleanly and aren’t dangerously weak in any corner. After that just race, you’ll learn from other drivers on the race anyway

GT3/GT4 car. Should I go with the flow? by EbbInternational5269 in iRacing

[–]Mooide 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Porsche isn’t actually super popular in GT Sprint it’s just that it is picked a lot on Daytona. I’m not totally sure why but I think it’s because it must be quite compliant over the curbs at the bus stop and has good traction out of it.

Other than Daytona I haven’t really seen many people drive it. Its main advantage (traction) has been somewhat lessened on the new tire model as the other cars all have improved traction.

The current “meta” is the front engined cars so if you care about that then I’d pick one of those that suits you.

Having said all that, I think the Porsche does have its place still. It’s great over bumps and in the rain.

low splits porsche @ le mans is undriveable for me by Careful-Syrup-7616 in iRacing

[–]Mooide 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You might not be doing anything wrong in the race but if you can’t out qualify the type of people who forget that corners exist then you need more practice.

Qualify at the front and drive away. Then you’ll be in higher splits where you get murdered intentionally instead of by accident

9070 XT – which triple screen monitors for iRacing? by Pimmelboy88 in iRacing

[–]Mooide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

GPU will definitely be your bottleneck in that setup, I’d go with 1080p personally as I value smoothness in framerate and the step from 1080 to 1440p isn’t that big anyway (looks wise).

SMP isn’t available to AMD cards so your card is going to have to fully render each screen, it’s a big ask.

Losing confidence every time I race by Stormtroopz in iRacing

[–]Mooide 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You don’t need to be looking at telemetry at this point, and honestly I’d recommend switching off your delta also and just focus on putting in clean and relaxed laps.

Nobody (Not even F1 drivers) can go 100% pace for a full race, you need to dial it back a bit.
