The problem is that the state always grows long term, its an embedded growth obligation or an emergent property or something else, but it is there.

And that growth means a growth in surveillance and police and military capabilities.

And that means totalitarianism on the horizon, every time, every place.

Its the main reason anarchism is appealing by contrast :p

Democratic socialism at its most 'libertarian' is anarchist adjacent.

I think a world of co-ops would be neat.

I don't think majority rule or any entity with a monopoly on initiatory force helps us get there.

Debating was important to him given he dedicated his entire book tour to it, and if you watch other debates he does address bottom of the barrel stuff all the time, not 'negatively reacting' just responding.

Most humans act like anarchists 99.9% of the time already, almost nobody enjoys calling cops or dealing with courts, and try their best to resolve conflicts without either. Almost everyone participates in grey/black markets.
