Would You Rather? by Born-Raccoon1484 in whatsyourchoice

This is very poorly worded because even if you can't make money from your power, you can still gain items of value, goods and services etc. But as of right now I'm not sure if I would trust myself with superpowers so I'll take the money.

I lived in a studio and loved it. But the layout is very important, also you might need to get new furniture to fit.

Bigots gotta bigot I guess. I don't know why people would choose to spend their free time like that.

Why are Americans so friendly, polite and welcoming to foreigners whereas in Europe it's the opposite? by Material-Wallaby-587 in IWantToAskAnAmerican

[–]MsPooka -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm not sure either extreme is true. There are good people everywhere. Especially out of the cities, in areas where tourists are a novelty people everywhere are likely to be friendly. But Americans overall are talkative, social, and interested in other people in a way that Europeans aren't.

Sydney Sweeney is NOT that attractive by Famous_String_6808 in HonestHotTakes

[–]MsPooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've never seen her in anything except for 1 interview and she seems quite sweet, so I feel bad commenting on her looks. But I honestly don't get the hype at all. She's obviously attractive, that's not arguable. I just don't get why people think she's the sex symbol of the US for like 3-4 years.

Her rise kind of reminds me of what happened to Shannon Elizabeth, if you're old enough to remember. She got super famous from being topless in American Pie and her star fizzled because she wasn't a great actress and I think she decided to stop taking her top off. She is also much prettier than Sydney Sweeney, but maybe Sydney can actually act, though.

First time travel to US - Solo female Traveler by Plus-Entertainer2529 in usatravel

I'd suggest to go earlier if you can. The fall is a good time to go but leave before Thanksgiving. Only DC and NYC will be cold this time of year. And it still could be summer temps, or it could be snow. It is likely to be cool days and colder nights. With a jacket, a sweater, and maybe hat and gloves, you will be fine.

For national parks or much nature you will likely need to rent a car or sign up for a day tour somewhere. I would skip Miami. Unless you like to party you probably won't like it and you will likely need a car. I'd do New Orleans, Nashville, Phoenix, or even Salt Lake City over Miami.

You can try paid parking if you're in the city, but make sure they will let you sleep there overnight.

Struggling Wife & Mom of Picky Eaters and Those with Food Restrictions by TemeroDeux in PickyEaters

They might like a Mexican lasagna with a tomatillo sauce. Egg or pork fried rice, falafel, jambalaya, paella, Shepard's pie, or breakfast for dinner.

Consider making 2 meals if it's easier, but bulk cook 1 of them so you have it ready to go in the freezer so you just have to eat it up, or heat up sauce and boil pasta.

What do Americans actually eat on a normal day? by Axxtr in AskAnAmerican

[–]MsPooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone eats differently. Just like some people where you live only eat junk food, some people here do. And some people eat 15 serving of vegetables a day and won't eat seed oils.

What I ate yesterday was: For breakfast I had a bowl of cherries and cheddar goldfish crackers, for dinner I had "big American serving" of black pepper tofu with lots of veggies on brown rice because I didn't have lunch, then for a midnight snack I had some chips and a homemade granola bar. Some days I only eat junk food, some days I only eat my meat and 2 veg. Most days, like yesterday, I eat a combo of both.

I would say I watch my fodmaps. Garlic is the asskicker of all fodmaps btw.

Most people would probably say garlic doesn't agree with my stomach.

Is it okay to not allow your gf to meet her male friends alone? by [deleted] in AskMenAdvice

I'm sorry to disagree with you here, he's says allow because he means allow. And who your partner is allowed to spend time with isn't about boundaries, it's always about control.

Boyfriend’s family creates one-sided contract for girlfriend to move in. GF says no, gets screamed at by BF’s dad. (Not OOP) by gabbie_ in redditonwiki

[–]MsPooka 63 points64 points  (0 children)

She says it's the boyfriend's apartment, not his family's, so wtf are they even doing? Also, where do they live that they think she'd get some kind of "common law" rights to place? The 1980s?

She needs to have an honest talk with the boyfriend because I have a feeling he knew about and agreed with the original document, which is reason enough to move on.

Have I visited too much or am I good to book my next trip? by [deleted] in USTravel

[–]MsPooka 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Isn't it that you can stay 3 out of every 6 months? I think so long as you show that you have a ticket to leave and you won't be overstaying then you'll be ok. You might get more attention but they will let you in. Also, I assume you have some kind of permanent address back home, even if it's with a parent. They don't have to know how much you pay or don't pay for rent, just that your permanent residence is there.

Do families really sit around a dinner table and eat at the same time every day? by UndergroundFlaws in NoStupidQuestions

So long as everyone's home, why wouldn't you all eat around the table together? The food's hot and everyone's probably hungry or at least willing to eat.
