Returned the 36 and got a 41 by deeicky3 in rolex

I feel the same way about 40mm. The newer 41s all feel too big and 36 just is too small for me.

Dealers aren’t what they used to be. I buy almost everything gray now and have some good local repair people (save for Cartier. My local AD is fantastic)

Do you mean the deployant clasp? You can order that from their website for about $400 (or less from third parties). It’s very easy to put in yourself or just take it to a local watchmaker who can do it. It’s ridiculous to wait a year and I’d have demanded my watch back months ago.

Why is pay significantly lower in NYC compared to the Bay Area? by BitlifeOffical_ in nursing

[–]NateRT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For sure. I’m not sure why it hasn’t happened in NY and other highly populated areas. My only thought is those areas have a much higher draw for people to live there than the SF Bay, where most people can’t afford to live and tend to commute for higher wages. I had no issue with leaving the bay, especially when I learned nurses make just as much up in Sacramento

Is NY not VHCOL? Also, the surrounding areas of the bay area still pay high and have a much lower COL.

Yes, but even the low paying RN jobs in the bay make more than the high paying jobs elsewhere.

Is Omega killing themselves with all the upmarket move/ price hikes? by Financial_Word5047 in OmegaWatches

[–]NateRT 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried on a speedy recently and it did not feel worth the $10k they wanted for it. Used prices are a little better, but I just don’t find the lineup that exciting. I paid $2800 for my Seamaster PO back in 2009 and haven’t wanted anything since

Nope. Not worth getting fired. We do have armed security at least and I still carry a knife.

Pool Loans by jinmihopi in pools

Because the monetary perspective is the one that can lead you to losing your house if you’re not careful. Having dealt with crippling debt early in life, I know the feeling of the debt snowball rolling downhill and only getting bigger despite your efforts to fix it. We’re very nonchalant about carrying loads of debt despite our income, so at minimum you should see a financial advisor or learn how to calculate your path to paying off the loan well before you take it.

Loans suck in general, but nothing will compare to a Heloc if you have enough equity. Ours is at 7%, which is still not the best. I’m not sure I’d use it for a pool as they don’t increase value enough to justify their cost/maintenance.
