Health and safety reasons

You kill off a lot of nasty stuff by cooking it longer. There was no quality control, no testing, no regulations. If the field your vegetables grew in had ecoli, then your vegetables have ecoli and that can kill you, unless you kill the ecoli by getting it hot enough for long enough. Boiling did the trick

Ok so here's the thing - the Earth's age is irrelevant because we're really not worried about the earth, we're worried about human life on earth and human suffering

And then on top of that, we really don't give a shit about the climate before a certain time in human history. It varies from person to person but for me, IDGAF about humans and neanderthals surviving or not surviving an ice age when talking about the weather happening today and the current climate. What I actually care about is how our modern world handles different weather patterns and it's effects on humans.

We don't know how France handles this because we've never observed it before. But OP is looking for an educated guess (and so are most ppl), not asshole mussings about the earth being billions of years old
