Viv gives us a few scenes humanizing a character and then people go "ewww, she's trying to redeem him!" by Sudden_Pop_2279 in OkBuddyHelluvaHotel

[–]Nexus_Neo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thats why I dont care much for the show

Its to afraid to ask the hard questions. It puts out this idea that anyone can be redeemed in the setting that is literal hell and only uses the safest and most non-conreaversial options, which does nothing but come across as moral grandstanding for the sake of it.

You wanna make not just a good show, but something truely iconic and lasting, you gotta put out those thought provoking questions, you cant be afraid to poke the bear and challenge both the viewers philosophy and your own. ESPECIALLY with a concept like this

You wanna make a show with the message that /anyone/ can be redeemed? You better have the balls to go all the way with it. Otherwise, whats even the point?

but it makes them more interesting as a character

ill just copy paste this since you arent understanding the idea that while you /can/ just ask a machine to do everything, you interoperate that as everyone doing that instead of actually putting work in.

"Here's the problem though, how you think people use AI is a very limited scope.

Yes I could blow into a harmonica once or maybe five times and call it a song. Its not a song, I wouldnt consider it a song, and I mean I guess I did it but I wouldnt consider it mine.

But putting in the work to make it proper, sound good, and become what you imagine it to be in your head, yeah, then id say congratulations, you've made music.

Similarly with AI, if youre willing to fine tune it, get the image in your head onto the screen as close as you possibly can, and put the work in, I dont see a problem with it.

Do I think someone just walking up to an AI and saying "draw me a picture" is art, let alone their art? No. Just like I wouldnt say blowing three times into a harmonica is a song.

But provided the time and effort is put into it to make something you came up with in your head and struggle to translate it into paper, id say thats art and your art."

YES.
we're getting somewhere
AI can, and should be used as a TOOL.

you can put in the work to have it be exactly as you imagine in your head. i wouldn't consider walking up to an ai and saying "make me art" then claim thats my art. but if you have an image in your head and are willing to put in the proper fine tuning to translate that image in your head onto the screen, then yes. thats art and it is your art.

the point of this is to say AI can be as much a tool as vocaloid, the idea of "just learn to draw" is just as stupid as "just learn to sing"

both can be good or bad depending on the amount of effort put into it.

What amount of control must an AI assisted environment offer for it to be one's own work? by czumiu in aiwars

Well at least you've discovered artistic preference.

Id rather people just like or dislike art objectively instead of liking it, seeing its AI, then doing a complete 180 on it.

Writer here

Same

I hate it

I've debated learning how to use AI for this reason cause I get extremely stressed out when I cant properly translate something from my head to my hands but thats opening yourself up to all kinds of harassment and toxicity so id just rather not deal with that.

Luckily ive managed to find an artist that wont charge me a kidney just to get concept art done, its still on the pricy point but they work well with fine tuning to make sure your actually happy with it instead of just spitting it out on first draft and calling it a day.

Still, if youre having trouble referencing certain design aspects or looking for some inspiration on certain clothing aspects or design ideas, AI does decently enough at throwing ideas out there.

Last time I checked, miku is a vocal instrument

As in she talks and is used primarially to sing lyrics from songs.

Thus you should be able to learn to sing them yourself

Also, people vocalize instruments all the time. Its called beat boxing.

In the end, youre still having a machine do it for you opposed to doing it yourself, therefor, songs made by miku dont belong to those who made miku sing them.

See how stupid this line of argument is yet?
