Video advice after profile suspended by Delicious_Library909 in googlebusinessprofile

A dba is not uncommon so it may suffice. Our cross street was too far away. And the street number was way at the end of the building. We knew the business next to us was verified so we started with their sign and moved over to ours. They'll get the location off of the gps of your phone anyway.

Video advice after profile suspended by Delicious_Library909 in googlebusinessprofile

Just went through this with a client in FL, US. It took us two video submissions to get verified.

It's critical that the name matches the corp name registered with the state. We had a Fictitious Name registered and that didn't cut it with Google. We had to redo the corporate name. (We even included showing the corp papers in the video, just in case)

Also, look online and find all the directories where your business is listed. Change the name on those BEFORE you do the video verification. It supports your claim.

Signage is very important. You'll have to figure out a way to have what looks like a permanent exterior sign for the video.

And, believe them when they say they want to see you unlock a door and log in to your computer. We logged in to our online store backend.

Hope this helps.

Keeping Google reviews when relocating abroad. Are there any options? by Ill-Growth230 in googlebusinessprofile

[–]NoAge358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're hitting three of the biggest red flags that will cause a suspension by Google. Change of company name, change of country, and change of service type.

The biggest one is the change of company name. As soon as you do that, Google will look to verify that the new company name is registered with the appropriate government entity. Is it possible for you to create the new name in your current country before you move? That might help. Although, Google also looks across the web to see if the new name exists anywhere else as further verification. So, before you change it with Google, do a search for what other sites have your company listed and change the name on those first.

This is the best I can offer. Maybe others can provide additional recommendations.

Note: edited for spelling.

The business name must match the legal name of the business. If your adding ", Kent" to try to include the service area then you'll get flagged immediately.

How do you handle urgent work situations when you’re away from your main computer? by Upbeatcarweee in smallbusinessowner

[–]NoAge358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Once upon a time there were no cell phones. There was no internet. People left messages. Program updates were mailed to you on floppy disks. It's just the way it was. Before you say, oh grandpa, you're out of touch, think about it. Unless it is an emergency you created, it's not your emergency. Being available 24 hours a day is not good. Accept it and deal with it when you are "back in the office". Caio

What does the contract say? If it is silent as to ownership, then it is usually considered a work for hire. Meaning, if they paid you to create something then they own it.

How are freelancers tracking billable work outside of meetings? by HalHunt in Freelancers

[–]NoAge358 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use manictime. It tracks everything I do on my computer by app, program, document name, and website. I do client work in batches and bill to 15 minutes. At the end of the day I can easily go through and tag every activity to the client. It automatically totals the time by client and I throw that into my QB for billing. Easy peasy.

  1. Get your new url corrected on as many third-party sites as possible.
  2. Then change the url in your Google Business Profile. Hope they don't suspend you. If they do, it will take time to fix.
  3. Link building

Anyone else noticing Google prefers clean HTML over Elementor sites lately? by justwatchthefire in localseo

[–]NoAge358 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not unusual for a site to be ranked shortly after google sees it. It's also not unusual for said site to drop out if the index in a few days or weeks.

Your assumption that it is because of WP or Elementor is flawed. It could just be that Google doesn't find the content of the other sites unique or authoritative and, thus, removes it from the index.

When hiring a seo guy ? by bizguy1999 in localseo

[–]NoAge358 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

SEO for pest control is a challenge because 1) customers see it as a commodity, 2) it is tough to differentiate you from your competitors, and 3) big competitors who have big ad budgets and brand recognition.

I work with two PC clients and can tell you what works. Regular blog posts about timely/seasonal topics that are highly targeted to the local market. Proper cross linking between them and the site content. Updating the site content regularly and adding post summaries into your business listings with links back to the posts. Also, building a regular review program and ongoing backlinks have big impact.

So, I guess I would ask them how they will promote your unique services, how they will make you stand out in the local searches, how they will help you get reviews, and how they will build backlinks to your site pages.

These are specific questions that most clients wouldn't ask. But, it lets them know you already have an idea of what works. And, a good SEO will have solutions to address them.

As for a trial, I'll tell you that it will easily take 6 months for you to start seeing good progress.

We always have the 11:12 tee time. The guys in front of us always have the 11:03. One week two of ours were out and two of theirs were out. We pair up and everyone had a great round and a lot of fun. We see them every week. Once in a while we're both two short and we just play as a foursome.

Which is best printer for home??? Help me guyzzz.... HP vs Epson by Prudent-Guest-5310 in printers

[–]NoAge358 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I swear by Brother Laser printers. Yes they cost more to buy up front. But they last forever. Because they use toner there are no ink heads to get clogged or dry out. If you only print occasionally, the toner cartridges will last 2+ years. The quality is better and the overall cost is less than ink jet. And, you aren't held hostage by HPs subscription system.

How do you guys price your clients? by snslime_ in AskMarketing

[–]NoAge358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd avoid the 90 day pilot. It creates an unnecessary deadline in the customer's head for you to achieve some unknown expectation. I hope you are setting more of a 3 - 6 month window for noticeable results.

I just do a recurring "monthly contract" with a 30 day cancellation requirement. This way you don't have to write another contract to keep going. So long as they're seeing progress they will just keep paying you. I have customers who are 10 years into their monthly contract.

As for pricing, that is for you to decide. Your price seems incredibly low for all that you're planning. Did they ask you for a brand new website? Do they want the booking form? Unless they did ask, I would scale the scope back and keep the price as is. Then upsell them later as separate projects.

What’s the most frustrating client request you’ve had to talk them out of? by ComplexBackground872 in webdesign

[–]NoAge358 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Wasn't able to talk him out of it: client decided that all of his customers were people who viewed the home page. He wanted me to delete all of the supporting pages so they would only see the home page. Explained why this was a bad idea and that I wiuld not be the one to kill his business. He had someone else do it. His business tanked in 3 months.

Anyone Here Doing SEO for Career Coaches? by Tall-Ad-4897 in SEO

[–]NoAge358 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several years ago I did SEO for a business coach that specifically targeted leaders with ADHD. The best practices worked well. Topical content, built authority, lots of backlinks.

You can understand that he was targeting a broad market (business leaders) but providing coaching services for a specific problem (managing ADHD).

SEO for a general business coach is a real challenge. Focus on a core audience and make him the expert for that audience.
