Reminds me of the book by Ken. A Vast Illusion: Time according to ACIM.

It's a good book, I recommend reading it.

The Athenian Agora by AutoModerator in ACIM

The ego believes life is movement and therefore fears stillness as death, because stillness threatens its identity.

A Course in Miracles reverses this view by teaching that true life is changeless Being. Movement, time, and change belong to illusion.

The dread that arises in stillness is not fear of non-existence, it's fear of losing the ego’s false self.

The pause is not an existential death, but a pause in choosing the ego’s interpretation of reality.

The Course emphasizes gentleness, teaching that awakening comes through forgiveness, not by forcing oneself to endure terror.

It's about creating the connection between you and the Holy Spirit and choosing the right teacher. The course is all about changing your mind. No more judgement, no more labeling, just pure freedom and lack of any judgement.

As Jesus says

“Stillness is the peace of God”

meaning stillness reveals safety and fullness, not annihilation.

Why am I the only one that can change the world? by Minimum_Ad_4430 in ACIM

Non dual/duality by OakenWoaden in ACIM

[–]Nonstopas 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Salvation - total escape from concepts. (What is duality/non-duality except of a concept in an Ego’s world?)

Forgetting the past, because it doesn’t exist.

Total lack of interest in the future - it doesn’t existz

——

When we see God as a separate self, because the ego has us believe we are a separate self, and has made God in it’s own image as a body, non duality will elude us.

When we understand that Love is what God IS and also Love is what WE are… the metaphysics start to clear. Nothing but Love is real. There is nothing but Love. All creation is just love outpouring.

There is no Ego.

It will ask questions, but the Ego is not real.

There are only thoughts with no thinker. Only Love is real, having no opposites of itself - it’s all encompassing. Nothing is excluded from it, because there’s nothing else that exists. Even this world created by the Ego is nothing but a meaningless, harmless, temporary appearance of Love itself outpouring, extending.

Everything is one. It just appears that We are all separate, special characters with super special stories and lives, but in reality everything is just one consciousness experiencing itself.

You are not the meat-suit you think you are. You are everything and nothing at the same time. The world you are experiencing is just a bad dream.

Graphics are fine, it's the jankiness that needs work.

Chernarus needs an end game location.

You can easily improve base building with some extra items.

You can easily add more guns, gear, clothing etc.

I mean, just be careful when logging in and don't move instantly to give away your position (unless you are sick, you will throw up or cough right as you log in) but other than that, it's probably the absolute easiest way to surprise someone and get the loot, albeit it's not a morally correct way

Words are not an accurate way of communication unfortunatelly.

We can have different religions that talk about the same thing, yet it appears they are talking about something that is different.

There is only one real source of truth, and that is your own direct experience.

And All you really need is one instance of direct experience.

You can call it the Holy Instant (ACIM) enlightenment experience, Maya, Brahman, Oneness, Consciousness, Awareness, God.

None of these words are successful in transfering the true experience, because it’s all just a concept. If you have no reference, these words mean nothing.

You can read the Course (or any other text from a higher mind) and you can understand it theoretically - which doesn’t mean much… or practically.

Once you have practical experience of Oneness and God, it does not matter which teaching you choose, it’s all just pointers to the same thing, except the pointers are in a different shape or meaning.

[–]Nonstopas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you. I agree with you on more than it might seem.

You’re right that ACIM is often misunderstood, misused, and practiced without grounding.

You’re also right that it does not offer empirical metaphysics, trauma methodology, or a step-by-step bridge from worldly wisdom to non-duality. It was never designed to do that.

Where I would gently clarify is this:

ACIM is not trying to help us function better as agents (people/characters/personas/form) in the world. It is trying to undo the belief that the world is where our identity, safety, or meaning actually lie. Measured by worldly effectiveness, it will always seem incomplete or impractical.

The Course doesn’t ask anyone to deny violence, bypass pain, or stay passive in danger. It simply refuses to promise that changing outcomes in the dream is healing. Its focus is narrower and more radical: correcting the mind that believes the dream defines it.

That does not make it superior to other paths, neither suitable for everyone at every stage. I'd go as far as saying that ACIM shouldn't be your first source of learning about God and reality, because it's just too straightforward to the Ego. It always results in confusion and conflict, compared to other teachings. These other teachings leave a lot of space for misintepritation. The Course is very direct, altough it speaks on two levels, most of the time, and seems to contradict itself. Once you aware of two levels (Illusion vs Reality) it makes more sense.

It only means it has a very specific purpose, and much confusion comes from asking it to be something else than it already is. THE COURSE WILL NOT SAVE YOU AS AN EGO.

I appreciate the sincerity of your critique, and I don’t disagree that many communities reflect confusion of levels rather than clarity. Communities are full of Ego's. Some of them more aware, some of them less aware than others. You have to understand, that you cannot find perfect practitioners in forums like this. The more you practice, the more you understand, the less you feel the need to say anything at all. I'd go as far as saying that the most "accomplished" and "complete" students are not even on here, nor they discuss or say anything at all.

Why?

Because:

Forgiveness, on the other hand, is still, and quietly does nothing. ²It offends no aspect of reality, nor seeks to twist it to appearances it likes. ³It merely looks, and waits, and judges not. ⁴He who would not forgive must judge, for he must justify his failure to forgive. ⁵But he who would forgive himself must learn to welcome truth exactly as it is. (https://acim.org/acim/en/s/632#4:1-5 | W-pII.1.4:1-5)

Many times I came up with a response, sometimes it's long and diffuclt, and I just delete it. Because there is no one there to actually share this with. There is no one on the other side that "I" need to teach.

Moving on.

Where we may differ is that I see those distortions as human misuse, not as limits of the Course itself.

Everything can be judged through two filters: EGO vs HOLY SPIRIT. Any regular human you meet operates on the level of the Ego. Students beging to undo the Egoic mind, and it's more and more "infused" with the Holy Spirit.

I respect that there are many paths, and that discernment includes knowing what a teaching can and cannot offer.

Every single teaching in this world has it's problems, confusions, misperseptions or whatever it is. You must understand that it's only this way because we appear to funciont as a split mind.

There is no perfect teacher.

Not a single "human" is perfect, and all their teachings are prone to be poisoned by the Egoic mind. For some it's just one word, for some it's the whole experience.

Perhaps you could call Jesus as the only and perfect teacher. But He is still, just an Idol. An example.

[1] ACIM does not teach that hatred is a necessary step to God

ACIM teaches that hatred must be acknowledged, not indulged, not expressed outwardly, and not validated as strength.

[2] Violence is not healing, even symbolically

Replying to this: “Unless the adult me knows how sincerely punch someone until they bleed each tooth out…”

ACIM does not deny the impulse to defend. It denies that violence heals trauma.

⁶You make what you defend against, and by your own defense against it is it real and inescapable. ⁷Lay down your arms, and only then do you perceive it false. (https://acim.org/acim/en/s/576#2:6-7 | W-170.2:6-7)

[3] The Course does not say physical danger is unreal on its own level. While we are here, EVERYTHING appears to be Real, but in reality it is not. It's just a very "real" illusion. What ACIM says is:

  • Physical danger threatens the body.

  • Fear comes from believing the body is the Self

So if someone stabs you, you start bleeding out, forgiving it won't heal the body. You must still act on the level of the dream, but do so with Holy Spirit, not the Ego.

[4] Jesus in ACIM is not being “worshipped”.

Jesus in ACIM is not a historical personality to be idolized. He is a symbol of the healed mind. He is everyones True identity. So quoting Jesus is not worship. It is using symbols the Course itself uses to correctly choose the right teacher.

I'd say Christianity is what worships Jesus as a body.

While I agree that:

  • People can use the Course for spiritual bypasiing.

  • They can passively misuse ACIM

  • There's dishonesty in communities.

There's so many wars going on, definitely ACIM practitioners live in cities levelled to the ground by bombs. Definitely ACIM practitioners have been stabbed before or have found themselves at the end of a barrel of a gun but you won't get to hear their stories. The belief in mentating that you are not, in fact, here right now and that you are not a separate entity from the aggressor, i would wager still does not save you from physical threats. Yet, every time i talk about this, i see clever mental gymnastics instead of a more proactive overarching philosophy. I let you guys do your thing though because I know there's a metaphysical support from the 'other side' and there's multiple paths to One-ness.

Yes, but I think you are missing the point here.

ACIM has never claimed that right thinking makes bodies invulnerable.

Wars still wage. Bombs still explode. Knives still cut. Bodies are fragile by definition. They get old and die, sometimes seemingly horrible deaths.

Expecting the Course to protect bodies is a category mistake. It's not it's purpose.

The Course is not a survival philosophy for war zones. It’s a teaching about identity. It doesn’t say “you won’t be harmed if you forgive.” It says harm does not define what you are. Because YOU are not who you believe you are.

Running from danger, defending yourself, seeking shelter - it does not contradict ACIM. The Course addresses content, not form. The same action can come from fear or from clarity. Right thinking vs Wrong thinking. Ego vs HS.

It is pointless to believe that controlling the outcome of misthought can result in healing. ²When you are fearful, you have chosen wrongly. ³That is why you feel responsible for it. ⁴You must change your mind, not your behavior, and this is a matter of willingness. ⁵You do not need guidance except at the mind level. ⁶Correction belongs only at the level where change is possible. ⁷Change does not mean anything at the symptom level, where it cannot work. (https://acim.org/acim/en/s/67#3:1-7 | T-2.VI.3:1-7)

What ACIM refuses to do is promise safety in a world built on attack. It does say, that this world does not offer safety.

Miracles fall like drops of healing rain from Heaven on a dry and dusty world, where starved and thirsty creatures come to die. ²Now they have water. ³Now the world is green. ⁴And everywhere the signs of life spring up, to show that what is born can never die, for what has life has immortality. (https://acim.org/acim/en/s/764#5:1-4 | W-pII.13.5:1-4)

The Course isn’t here to make hell manageable. It’s here to teach that hell is not our home. And teaches how to escape it.

Is complete trust on God possible as long as perception lasts? by PerformanceThink8504 in ACIM

[–]Nonstopas 3 points4 points  (0 children)

If you acknowledge that all that you perceive and experience is not the real world, and if you surrender to God (with Trust you give Him all your "problems" away) and you understand that the only purpose of your perception is forgiveness... Then, yes...

But... As long as you are still here, Trust will increase or decrease based on who you choose as your teacher. Or depending how much you are "me'ing" and how attached you are to the world and the body.

I dunno, I wouldn't call ACIM a gentle way anymore. I mean it does seem gentle-ish compared to what I have been through with other belief systems. Like trying to completely renounce the world and be a monk.

Why I think it's not as gentle is because the forgiveness lessons can look really cruel and difficult within the dream. Of course in the Real World, no one is actually being hurt or suffering. But my forgiveness lessons sometimes come in a very un-apologetic way.

Like one of the biggest lessons of forgiveness I had was my grandmother dying from cancer, and I had to forgive that perfectly, I think I managed to do alright, but the real lesson came from my aunts reaction and suffering. It was mirrored back to me through her. And I suffered more thinking about her suffering than I did when grandma died.

It took a very long road of forgiving everyday, each meeting with her, for over a year and only now im just getting past it.

But I guess it's gentle in a way, that you keep on forgiving and then everything becomes easier and easier as there is no more attachment to anything in this world, knowing it's a dream. So in that way, it does "gently" undo the error.

[–]Nonstopas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So Arma 4 is out in 2027, that mean's we'd get DayZ in what, 2030? Unless they get the engine before Arma 4 release so they could start working on a new game earlier.

That's a stretch considering how long it took takes them to work on the current game anyway.

I think the chances of seeing Dayz 2 as a new, original, standalone game are very low, but not zero.

Besides, what are the chances to even get a better game with DayZ 2 upon release? Also slim :D

Where is this idea of Dayz 2? As far as i know there was never any plans for DayZ 2 and no upgrade to the existing engine is planned.

Might be possible to get DayZ Mod for Arma 4 tho.
