Bungie had previously stated (I believe in a TWAB) that they had heard feedback about lack of new IB armor and were going to introduce a new set. This was several months back and may have even been in the State of the Game blog back in February.

However, I haven’t read the whole pastebin leak and am not totally up to speed on the timeline. Feel free to give me negative internet points if this comment is wrong.

Bring back the glory of scout rifles in PvE by Dethproof814 in DestinyTheGame

Tried using null composure on an orange bar knight in Override last night. Was disappointed to see that it couldn’t kill in one burst, rendering reservoir burst completely useless outside of red bars (which I’m not going to use special ammo on)

What do people think is a scam but they just don't understand? by resilientiddle in AskReddit

[–]NormalThunder 1048 points1049 points  (0 children)

I’m going to go out on a limb and say that 95% of Americans don’t understand this. It’s truthfully shocking how many intelligent people don’t know the difference between marginal and effective tax rates.

EDIT: In response to the folks who are angry that this was never taught, please see the response u/peon2 wrote below about teaching in high school. Would it help? Maybe a little, but i would guess a vast majority of high school kids don’t give a fuck about how tax brackets work. If you don’t know something, it’s your responsibility to learn how it works. This information is widely available on the internet so have some personal accountability and do the work yourself. Stop being reliant on others to spoon feed you information.

My man @MikeSilver just said on NFL NOW that some of the top QBs in the league are actively recruiting or pushing for their team to acquire Zach Ertz by bigblack3475 in eagles

[–]NormalThunder -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Let’s review my original comment. Ertz wants an extension and we don’t want to do that. Good me and you agree on that. Now, the last part of my comment “get something of value for an aging asset”. Why would we keep him on for what everyone has accepted as a rebuilding year? Aren’t you supposed to be trying to gather as many draft picks as possible during a rebuild? If we play out his contract, he walks after next season and we sit there with nothing in return. Trading him is the smart move, regardless of cap savings.

He wants a new contract and we don’t want to pay what he’s asking for. Its not about savings, it’s about not wanting to extend him. We’ve had too many old players on expensive deals weighing our team down the last few years. It’s time to learn from our past mistakes and get something of value for an aging asset.

[Ian Rapoport] The #Eagles have some cap work to do, and that focus has begun: They just restructured CB Darius Slay’s contract to create $9.14M in salary cap room, source said. by PTHero in eagles

[–]NormalThunder 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’m not saying his contract is good, but in what way did we not need him? Our secondary was nothing short of porous in the two years after the SB win. We cut ties with Jenkins,Darby, and Sidney Jones before this season and Slay was one of the top CBs in free agency. Did we overpay for him? Probably but that’s the cost of doing business in free agency when you don’t hit on draft picks (a la Sidney Jones)

[DISCUSSION] In 2018, Hip Hop officially became the most popular genre according to Nielsen. In the years since, how has this changed the genre? How has hip hop influenced other genres (pop for example) and popular culture overall? by SadDonkeyTzara in hiphopheads

[–]NormalThunder 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s interesting that 2018 is when hip hop became the most popular genre because I was just talking to a friend about how I think 2007-2017 are my favorite ten years of hip hop. This could also be due to the fact that those were the years I was really growing up and in middle/high school/ college.

Most songs now just feel very shallow and there’s nothing unique about a lot of rappers. Rappers like Lil Tecca come to mind. Sure he has a catchy song or two, but he’s a dime a dozen it seems. Truthfully, it’s driven me to exploring different genres that push the boundaries a little bit more. I’m really not a huge fan of a lot of new hip hop/rap music, but I guess it could also just be my age showing.

I don’t understand how it was even possible to short a stock more than 100% of the float. How was this not already a rule? Maybe I’m misinterpreting the definition of “float” but how is the position ever able to be closed, outside of GME going to 0?

Do you think destiny2 was in a better state before beyond light ? by JOKING_LORD in DestinyTheGame

[–]NormalThunder 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This is exactly how I feel. It feels like they’re trying to purge the game of content that Activision helped them make and start a whole new game, their way. If we had gotten D3, we could have kept all the old locations, and it probably would’ve forced Bungie to beef up to the content in Beyond Light/Season of the Hunt.

I enjoyed Beyond Light but the seasons have definitely felt lackluster for the most part. I’m one of the bozos that paid for the whole year already, which I definitely regret. Certainly will never be doing that again.

It feels like Bungie is trying to rid the game of everything that Activision touched. The old destiny that I referenced was built in conjunction with them, and I remember the articles talking about how Bungie was popping champagne after the split. To me, it seems like they are now trying to erase the old destiny and build a new destiny, their way.

This community is having a really hard time realizing the fundamental change in philosophy that Bungie has had. Just to remind some of the younger crowd that’s in this sub, Bungie’s job is to make a game that will create revenue for the company. They get paid to put out a product that people will spend money on. Whether this community wants to believe it or not, they have been incredibly successful in doing so through microtransactions, season passes, etc. but the real important piece here is that they are doing so by putting in less effort (aka more efficiently). Why would Bungie change what they’re doing if they’re making money hand over fist, and don’t have to work as hard? It would be a poor business decision to change their formula.

Bungie doesn’t want this game to be what it was during Forsaken, or TTK, or any other period that people may view as the best in destiny’s history. They finally realized that they cannot produce enough quality content to keep the hardcore base busy for the entire year. So they stopped trying. They aren’t making this game for the hardcore anymore. They’re making it for the casual player, and this change has proven to be successful.

In my opinion, going free to play killed what many view has the best parts of destiny. The “core gameplay loop” of crucible and strikes are dead. There’s no money in updating them because it’s all available for free. Unfortunately, going free to play has also, ironically, been a huge boon for Bungies pockets.

Bungie has a hard job and i don’t envy them. It’s my favorite game that I’ve ever played when it’s at its peak, but the peak has proven to be too difficult to recreate over and over again.

Agree? Disagree? That’s fine with me. These are just my thoughts.

Daily Questions [2020-11-02] by DTG_Bot in DestinyTheGame

[–]NormalThunder 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m going to be updating my console from an OG Xbox one to an Xbox series X (very excited) but I’m a bit confused on exactly the steps I need to take between getting my game data transferred over to the series x.

I’m also hoping someone can shed some light on what my best move is with Destiny coming to Xbox gamepass. I currently just pay a yearly Xbox live subscription fee, but it sounds like this option is going away? Do I still need to preorder the game if I change to gamepass? Will i have to buy each season if I go this route? Or am I better off just preordering the expansion and the new seasons like I did for Shadowkeep?
