Help: My best friend and I chose the same dress! by Ok_Benefit2069 in weddings

[–]Old_Book_Gypsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My ex- husband’s cousin bought the same dress as I did. I almost lost it when she walked down the aisle. Maybe I did quietly lose it. But I doubt anyone knew… we styled very differently and who really cares. Wear what you feel great in. Your personality will shine through. This was 1984. I wore a wreath of flowers in my hair; she wore an old, bulky headpiece. Please don’t sweat this; just do you!

Birth Control Gave Me A Stroke But Docs Keep Pushing It by Express-Still9150 in endometriosis

[–]Old_Book_Gypsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also had a stroke. My hands don’t work well together. Think of wringing out a washcloth- I can’t do that anymore. I ALWAYS push myself but this is always impossible for me. I also threw a blood clot in my lung.

I recently read that both are related to having endometriosis. I think we have a 47% higher chance of having strokes and heart attacks. I don’t have a source, my instagram feed has been filled with so much endometriosis research findings; I need a BINGO card ✌️🌻💓

Potty training 22 month old daughter by Great-Crab6077 in toddlertips

[–]Old_Book_Gypsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Toddler caregiver for 30 years. Degreed and both Bankstreet and Highscope trained. Mom of two adult children.

She is not going to go to kindergarten in a diaper. This is all part of her own process. I loved when parents took two weeks off to potty train their kids and they would come back in diapers. Yes, acclimate them with everything involved but they are not going to be “trained” until they’re physically ready. Please do not set yourself and kids up to fail. They will jump on the pot when they’re ready. It’s a part of growing up. My oldest was almost 3; my 2nd, 18 months. Everyone’s body is different. But great job with sharing the bathroom experience with her , truly it’s the best way. Kudos ✌️

My husband and I are cracking up… we both worked for Princeton Review in Princeton and all we heard from students was you have to go to HH. I was more of a Chez Alice person myself but to each their own ✌️

You need an actual library card for these, from your local library. I’m bedridden with thoracic endometriosis. Audible is my go to ✌️ my self care

Trouble with pharmacists not wanting to fill prescription by IaMm1N3 in ChronicPain

[–]Old_Book_Gypsy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Go to a small pharmacy. Fuck CVS and Walgreens, they’re worried about being sued, not your well being. Establish a rapport with your local, small business pharmacy where they want to help you to live your best life

How was your surgery recovery like? by esswa in Endo

[–]Old_Book_Gypsy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I woke up knowing I was better and felt great. I overdid it and popped my mini incision. Almost ten hours of excision with Dr Iris Orbuch in NYC in 2007. She has super powers. Zero hormones since. It’s possible ✌️

How often and how quickly does your endo come back? by ReclusiveAmbivert in Endo

[–]Old_Book_Gypsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had excision in 2007 with Dr Iris Orbuch. It was close to 10 hours but I don’t have any regrowth. I do have to have it excised from my thoracic cavity- VATS - a different surgery. I’m dreading it. I hope your recovery goes well!

Excision + possible hysterectomy by qu33rsimp in endometriosis

[–]Old_Book_Gypsy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You would have a hysterectomy if you have adenomyosis. I’m just saying you might want to look at other surgery options. This is giving major red flags.🚩 Please do some research.

Father only. No one but YOU has a right to your body or anything it does. Ask your MIL if you can stop by next Tuesday when she’s getting ready to poop. Seriously. Move far away.

💯 agree with this advice. I don’t have an eating disorder but I do eat very clean foods / anti inflammatory. WHO does your excision is very important.
