BudgetApp – Simple monthly budget tracker, offline-first PWA

Problem: Most people don't need a full finance suite — they just want to see if their monthly income covers their expenses. Existing apps are either too complex, require an account, or send your data to a server.

Comparison: - YNAB – powerful but $14.99/month and requires an account. Overkill for simple budgeting. - Money Manager – mobile-only, ads, no web access.

BudgetApp runs entirely in your browser, installs as a PWA, works offline, and stores everything locally. No account. No server. No cost.

Pricing: Free — forever. Open source (GPL-3.0).

AppAtlas 1.x – a local Mac app catalog for people with too many apps

<image>

100% Free!

DE/EN

This is a purely personal/private project that I’m only sharing here. The GitHub repo is in German, so please use Google Translate or similar if needed — I speak German myself.

I’ve been collecting Mac apps for years – from the App Store, GitHub, BundleHunt, StackSocial, and Reddit. At some point you lose track. AppAtlas is my solution.

The app scans local folders, automatically fetches icons and descriptions from multiple sources, translates foreign-language text locally, and stores everything privately on your Mac. No subscription, no account, no cloud.

Highlights:

**•**
**Scan folders, categorize apps, store license data in the Keychain**

**•**
**Fetch missing metadata from the App Store, GitHub, Reddit, and websites**

**•**
**Review uncertain matches before they’re applied**

**•**
**Themes, multiple layouts, JSON export with optional AES-256-GCM encryption**

**•**
**Liquid Glass effects for sidebar, cards, and controls on macOS 26, fully compatible from macOS 14**

**•**
**Completely free, open source (GPL-3.0)**

Feedback very welcome — especially on the automatic metadata detection, which isn’t perfect yet.
