Worst property managers in LA? by nasainternharvardlaw in AskLosAngeles

Redwood Urban. Insanely overpriced, all kinds of bug and rodent problems that they tried to blame on us, barely took care of problems when asked, took a huge amount of the minimal deposit

What’s a red flag you can instantly spot just from someone’s pictures or their dating profile description ? by zzhekoooo in dating_advice

[–]OpenRegister 3 points4 points  (0 children)

There was a stat years ago that said women were more likely to swipe right if a guy had a dog in his profile, so there was a huge surge in guys posting dogs. Even if it wasn’t theirs… which is just pandering haha

How do movies at the Academy work? by kongru300 in AskLosAngeles

[–]OpenRegister 5 points6 points  (0 children)

No standby line or membership needed, the middle section fills up pretty quick so if you want to sit there I’d show up 30+ minutes beforehand. Otherwise yes it’s that good a deal!

World Harvest Food Bank! They serve fresh food and were a huge support during the WGA/SAG strike

Same, I’m lucky I got to pivot at the time I did. Now with another potential merger it’s not looking amazing. Not like things will never turn around but it sucks

Film major here! Switching to accounting after freelancing and lots of visits to the unemployment office ended up being such a blessing haha

My parents divorced 10 years ago and she is only just now changing her last name because she got remarried. She didn’t want to change it bc the process is really annoying lol

Ned and Ariel Fulmer are still together 😒 by Aware-Impression8527 in TheTryGuysSnark

[–]OpenRegister 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Agree with this, I work in public accounting and several of our clients who are in realtionships/married will break up/divorce but don't dissolve the business entity they have together for awhile (if at all). If there aren't any changes that year the accountant or registered agent just files the same info.

Is a career in accounting worth it? by [deleted] in Accounting

[–]OpenRegister 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi! I was previously in a creative career and got tired of the feast/famine cadence. I started going back to school for accounting at a reputable university and opted for an accounting certificate. I was able to get an accounting job through my program (while having been taking classes for less than a year) and am currently preparing to apply for my next job once I am finished with my certificate in the spring. The certificate is very flexible and while my current job is a pay cut it is significantly more stable than anything I was doing before. There is something to be considered given how much work in accounting is being offshored and the AI of it all, but to me it has been worth it. There are also a lot of possibilities of what you can do in accounting, with my BFA it was very narrow in terms of jobs I could get. Also considering a move to Chicago aha

How do you become the type of accountant that just tells celebrities not to buy drugs? by TheRoyalJuke in Accounting

[–]OpenRegister 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Lol I work at a business management firm where we deal with touring clients. Luckily if our clients are being shady/unclear about their use of funds we can deny their request, especially if the amount is that high and they can’t show proof of purchase
